I've found textures for the most part pretty good. This game however as pretty as it is u take away one or 2 elements and it looks like ass. Mainly lighting is what gets it across the line. Suppose lighting is a big element in any game haha.
Yeah but surely not at 30fps and consoles have the ultimate optimisation and no windows overheads. Its mind blowing to think how old an xbox one's specs are and can still play this game at 1080p 30fps with essentially an amd 7770.
BTW his settings you mentioned are trying to match xbox 1 x looks. Not his recommendations. Not sure if its the nvidia drivers that dropped today or the hack to turn on async but my stutter in valentine is gone?
I think of it the other way around: it's mind blowing how much overhead a full Windows OS causes, and how much hardware power is wasted on nothing useful. In my job, I see this a lot. High end 3D, vector calculations, GPGPU and the like all run far worse on Windows than other OSes. There's a good reason why, when people need processing power, they don't use Windows.
Isnt the other factor the millions of cpu/memory/video card combinations make it very hard to optimise for verse 1 spec on console?
i get some stutter in cutscenes while in gameplay it's few and far in between. Even on the xbox one x equivalent settings it's still lookin' good... but not better
I was more getting at the fact that I can demonstrate different OSes that span a broader combination of hardware and perform better for high compute requirements (i.e.: for requirements greater than slinging Office documents). But I'm getting wildly off topic here, so I'll shut up.
Actually it didn't run 1080p 30fps. Though your point still stands, it's just not to the magnitude suggested. Xbox one (non X) ran it at 1536x864 and had pretty bad lag issues (read: 23-25fps average) in densely populated areas
Yay! Part 1 of 2 though. Second expected by end of week. To save people time once both are done ill list their recommended settings.
Not sure if it has been posted yet but this site has tabled settings for 60FPS; https://www.pcgamesn.com/red-dead-r...nce-analysis#nn-graph-sheet-1080p-high-medium
gonna go home and watch HWU and see what settings they suggest EDIT: HA! I found the 2 ppl from Achievement Hunter in the game.
I noticed that water and volumetrics quality will change to "custom" when you edit the advanced settings.
