No issues with my 2080ti, purchased Oct 2018 and it has Micron ram.
none with mine either been running it oc for a month
New GPU is running nicely, so happy how well it runs AC Odyssey at 1440p, I have only tried a small amount of OCing GPU clock at 1575mhz at around 74c seems kinda hot for such a small increase in MHZ
I thought the issues were only prone to reference style boards? Either way my 2080 strix and my brothers msi 2080 are running fine both with heavy overclocks right out of the box. Got them on release.
i just maxxed my fans out and it sits at around 50-70c depending on load and doesnt drop below 1900mhz
What OCing software are you guys using, Afterburner has been recommended and that Asus GPU Tweak is crap, what do you recon.
msi after burner
max power limit and fans then tweak core mhz up
so is there anywhere I can get a step by step Guide to using it properly
u could try evga precision x1 auto and tweak that.
I managed to get Afterburner running @ 1900mhz only had a short test all went well, no that I have a bit more time for AC Odyssey test
Just had my second 2080ti die. First was an ASUS dual oc with an EK block. Second was a gigabyte factory water cooled extreme (not AIO). Both were Micron. First card was classic ram symptoms. initial ram oc was good, then crash. Then lower..first thought was..oh it's just not stable...then crash..then lower..then it ran for a month and I thought it was all good. Then crash..then lower..then crash then lower..eventually ran it for 2 weeks underclocked until one day it wouldn't even boot. The second card was rock solid with a very mild oc. 3 nights ago the screen went black (into standby). I rebooted and it ran for 3 more days. Then did it again. Now does it every time I restart after within about 30 seconds to 2 minutes.
well umm i didnt oc my ram at all and its fine...? Maybe stop ocing ram
wow, nice anecdote.
I find if you keep them in their box, they never fail. Schrödinger's GPU.
Is yours Micron ram? I've been overclocking graphics cards for more than 20 years and I have had 2 graphics cards fail, both 2080ti's with micron ram. How long have you had your 2080ti for? Don't count your chickens yet.
There are some fixes posted online on certain subzero overclocking forums. Volt mod or voltage unlock for memory.
well i only bought it a month ago but it has samsung memory
>buy a card well known for memory not ocing well
>proceed to oc it anyway without tweaking the memory voltage
>durrr card shit hahah why 2+ broken in a row
your like one of those lab rats getting electric shocked over and over yet wont learn, maybe get samsung ?
You don't get a choice what ram you get on your card. Stop trolling.
you can't tweak the memory voltage without hardware mods
cards are dying without an overclock
3rd card is samsung and overclocks well
my card is faster than yours
Ignore the... other posters.
OP you gotta make your own mind up and decide to put with with broken driver with broken x or broken driver with broken y
These cards are very new (under 1yr totally new arch)
Well known issues with HDMI/DP flicker/signal (still not fixed, nothing to do with hardware more to do with how the software handles multiple monitors)
Apart from that ive had zero issues with my card besides aforementioned software driver related stuff
Wait how is that trolling?
This is true, hardmods are recommended/required on these cards past a certain part (bypassing limp mode inbuilt protection)
Initially faulty ram/silicone was to blame for this, nvidia rushed the launch to beat amd... at what? Who knows pascal was 2 years old thats what happens when you compete with yourself i guess
And my dick is smaller than yours
