Hi guys, just spent a couple of hours this morning messing around with trial software removing a person from a photo and gave up. it was a fairly large chunk and instead of using the background to the left (field of flowers) the algorithm was trying to blend in with the portion to the right (the person I wanted to leave in the photo). obviously thats not what I wanted

Just got a sample back from the funeral home and they're artist (I assume they subcontract the work out....) had removed it perfectly. any idea what program they would have used? Is there an industry standard out there and whats the cost?

Photoshop with manual clone stamp or content aware delete.

Can nearly guarantee that it's photoshop.

I consider myself "OKAY" with photoshop but I'd still barely do a passable job compared to somebody that did it for a living.

you're both right - I managed to pass my appreciation onto the artist and they confirmed photoshop. It really is mindblowing how they removed such a large chunk of the photo and it still looks natural

Unfortunately the software appears to be subscription only now :(
