    My now old PC has been thumping along for about 8 years now without a problem ... but Ive gone from triple monitors to 2 , then 1 , but now its had enough on the last display also
    Im just going to replace the card ... would the one linked below be compatible with what I have .... I even found a list of specs when I built it but havnt kept up with the latest gear for years

    I multitask moreso than gaming but multiple monitors are a necessity

    Thanx

    Yer will be fine, you could save some money with a rx 570 or even rx 560 though if you’re not gaming or using opencl.

    Careful as they are from the same user (with a low rep count) and would be ex-mining units.

    GTX1060 6G GDDR5 192Bit PCI-E Game Video Card Graphics Discrete Game Graphics - AU $107.53 - but has to come from Hong Kong if you can wait?

    What makes you think the monitors are gone? Could it be a symptom of the failing/failed GPU?

    JB HiFi will cost a lot more than Umart, MSY or Computer Alliance.

    What is your postcode?

    DATA transfer rates (and thus better quality) are highest with DP>HDMI>DVI. So DP is the best quality but be aware they have newer forms.
    https://www.gamingscan.com/hdmi-vs-displayport-vs-dvi-vs-vga/
    https://www.expertreviews.co.uk/acc...port-vs-dvi-vs-vga-every-connection-explained
    That is there is;
    - DP is upto 1.4, from 1.2 to 1.3 and now 1.4,
    - HDMI is upto 2.0, from 1.4,
    - DVI can be 'dual'

    You need to determine what is the max GPU output potential and then find a suitable monitor.

    I just plugged them into power and turned them on .... on 2 of them the splash screen dies instantly (and is very dull) and the 'no cable detected' box is the same .... goes off straight away

    My postcode is 2340 ... regional .... I just used JB as a bit of a guide and anything I find suitable to buy I would hunt down a best price

    more research needed! :)

    cheers

    You should make sure any monitor you get has display port at minimum. Any extra inputs after that are a bonus.

    I would never buy a Kogan TV (sooooo many bad reviews) but there monitors are ok?

    While I was looking at OzBargain I came across this deal (which ends today);
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/466932
    33% Off BIOSTAR GPUs - RX 580 8GB 2040SP (Stock OTW), was $300, now $201

    I have been trying to research the company to make sure they are not a bunch of crooks as that is an incredible price but are having troubles finding any meaningful info on them?!?

    The monitor will come with a DP cable. Yes that is a crazy price when I can find them for less than 1/2 that;

    Not sure about that monitor but there are reviews for it.

    Im going to take a punt on the Kogan curved monitor

    Whats happens with a card thats used for 'mining' .... does it run full tilt 24/7?
    A new 570 is $179 at Umart ... so that could be the better option

    thanx everyone for your input

    Mining cards are on 24/7 so they can have a hard life. Experienced users modify the BIOS to 'undervolt' them to reduce the wear potential - when they sell them they reflash back the original BIOS.
    You didn't think the RX580 a bit interesting? I think the sale is over now.
