We all know secretly you loved the heart guy..................
Most of my fav's have already been mentioned... but was about to post this video and noticed you'd mentioned it already.
Anyway freaking awesome cartoon that generated much thought with a cool as intro;
Duckula was good too;
Haha yeah, you got me..
Love that hippy song theme from Spartacus, very cool.
I'm so sorry...
Still got the mugs, the bowls are somewhere too.
Looks like I am going back another generation again with;
- Wacky Racers,
- Speedy Gonzales,
- Speed Racer,
Old school puppetry was Thunderbirds.
Road Runner anyone ?
I loved Wile E Coyotes elaborate plans
And for the younger players here tonight, the fast and the furious wasnt a car movie in the "old days"
I'm currently watching this with my Daughter, bout half way though. She's loving it.
I agree it has aged well, but also uncannily good even watching it as an Adult. The synth score is brilliant
Ren & Stimpy is my most memorable as an older kid
You mean Fireball XL5 or Stingray?
I wasn't alive for the first run of any of Gerry's shows.
John K (Ren & Stimpy creator) was a super weird guy, and by all accounts equal parts amazing and terrible to work with. I genuinely think he was a little insane, but it's obvious to me that Ren & Stimpy set a standard for animation in the same way Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny did in their respective eras.
I remember how much adults at the time HATED Ren & Stimpy, calling it filth and trash. I'm a huge fan of the absurd and surreal, so it was exactly the sort of thing I loved.
Hahaha that's awesome!
My most memorable parts were with kawalski (sp?) "And what do you want to drink"? "MEAT".
And the Stimpy's conscience one where Ren kept getting the crap beat out of him.
Also can't forget the baboon guarding the pork faces.
"Everybody loves log!"
Was my startup sound for Win 95
Samurai Pizza Cats
Dungeons & Dragons
SuperTed, Banana Man, DangerMouse, Roger Ramjet, Rocky & Bullwinkle and Inspector Gadget (+ Wind in the Willows, The Goodies, Monkey Magic, Sooty & Sweep, Ringo's Thomas and Mr Squiggle) sure bring back memories of after school/homework viewing. WB cartoons on Saturday morning with Daffy Road Runner were a weekend routine, in later years Animainacs, Pinky & The Brain, Duck Tales and Aladdin were enjoyable as well.
I barely remember Ulysses and the Mysterious Cities of Gold, just flashes of some scenes and mostly the large emotional effect those shows had on me at the time. I went though a phase of attempting to re-watch a lot of childhood shows and introduce them to my kids, some have not aged well (TMNT, lion voltron, Transformers animated movies and the He-man live action movie) while others like Mysterious Cities and Astro Boy have stood the test of time.
Notable video's that haven't been posted yet...
I'd forgotten all about this one - Silver Hawks. Laser guitar battles, need I say more?
I know this is getting off topic however my wife grew up watching Dragonball on TV, also there's a decent age gap between myself and youngest siblings and we religiously VHS'd and watched Cheez TV & DBZ together...
Aww, no love for Raggy Dolls?
Came here to post this - I loved this show as a kid!
That was the first show I thought of when this thread started and I forgot to list it!
Speeeed of the Puuuma
Strength of the beeeaaar!
I used to love that show. As kids we'd play-act it with friends in the pool, doing his flips and stuff.
What a bunch of nerds.
