    Click here if you want an explanation of what this is, and why we're doing it.

    Vote away! Poll closes March 31, we play the winner April 1.

    Current Nominations:

    * "Ghouls 'n Ghosts" aka "Daimakaimura" (1988)
    * "Privateer 2: The Darkening" (1996)
    * "Star Control II: The Ur-Quan Masters" (1992)
    * "Turrican" (1990)
    * "Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness" (1995)

    Nominate the game we'll play and discuss during early April 2017 in this thread. On Friday 24th March nominations will close, I'll add a poll, and we'll vote on the game there. Votes close March 31, and we start playing April 1.

    For now, nominate away. Rules are similar to other retro threads - the original game must be 10 years old or older (released April 2007 or earlier). Please keep nominations to one per person, so the voting list stays sane.

    See the FAQ thread linked to above for sites offering inspiration and ideas of which titles to pick. When nominating, please share a small amount of information about the game and maybe a screenshot or video. Handy links include MobyGames, HG101 or Wikipedia links.

    Star Control 2: The Ur-Quan Masters

    Possibly one of the most fun games I've ever played. Lead your crew on a quest to liberate Earth and the Alliance worlds from the evil Ur-Quan. Meet strange new alien races and not a few old friends before the final showdown with the Ur-Quan superweapon platform.

    Originally released for DOS in 1992 by Accolade, it was re-released on 3DO in 1994. There has subsequently been a full source code and media release to the community, and you can now play the game in original or 3DO form for free on Windows, Linux, Apple, or Android devices. Having said that, I hope that we have plenty of people interested in playing on DOS with their GUS cards and perhaps even on console.

    Privateer 2: The Darkening from 1996

    I loved this game, making money did tend to be a little repetitive, but the story line, graphics and combat were amazing.
