just been reading on a NZ gaming forum saying that they received an email from EA saying the import patch for RB should be coming today/tomorrow.

    Anyone else hear about this?

i'm about to do the UK psn account method but figured someone might have heard something about it....although i'm not even sure if the NZ psn store would include the aussie psn store?

As in the Export RB1 songs into RB2 patch?

Hopefully that means RB2 will be released here soon enough.

The RB1 to RB2 export key only just came out on the Aus PSN store? God that's slack, it's been on the Aus XBL store for a year.

Yeah, I had a bit of fun with it on the weekend. Didn't realise it was a full length track. My Cartman voice ran outta stamina as the spoken word parts came up, + we were laughing constantly through it.

I also noticed there's a lady gaga pack as well, probably would've have bought it, if the cartman version was included.

On a side note. I finally figured out how to check hdd usage on my ps3, and found I was down to 3gb left. So i bought and installed a 500gb yesterday. The backup process seemed to work well. However My usage is sitting at 385/465gb. How have I used 80gb already? when my previous hdd was only 40gb, and only 27gb of data was backed up?

Oh and after the upgrade I think Rockband seems to lag at the start of tracks sometimes. It used to do this every now and then, but It seems to be doing it more often, and more severely. It'll pause for about 3 seconds, and then play normal after that.

You'd think a new hdd would be faster though. It's a WD blue hdd.

the hdd install was very easy, and the whole process was faster than I had expected.

    1. basically, sync your trophies (if you care)
    2. plug in an external hdd formatted to fat32
    3. run the backup utility, took a bit over an hour for 27gb to backup
    4. Install new hdd, by undoing 5 screws and levering off a plastic panel
    5. Install new PS software/firmware whatever from a USB drive, onto new hdd
    6. restore backup, check your trophies.

If you have nothing to back up the process would take 10 - 25 mins.

The only thing that didn't backup properly was my Super Puzzle Fighter game, which I had to redownload (52mb).

The PS3 reserves about 11% of your HDD for 'stuff'. It does this regardless of size. Yes it seems stupid to me too but that's how it rolls.

Not sure about the lag, I don't get that (ever) and you're right a WD blue should be faster than the stocky.

Just picked up 2 logitech guitars and drumkit today (thx logitech). Only tried the guitar so far, the difference is blood amazing and definitely not placebo effect.

Worth every cent if u're planning to pick one up

I fixed my new hdd lag problems, by changing the hdd again.

Ripped out the Seagate hdd from my new lappy.

So either this WD is faulty, or the PS3 or Rockband is very picky

The laggy HDD is a WD5000BEVT for those interested.

For the PS3, do I have to buy PAL versions of Rock Band 1 & 2 to export RB1 songs to RB2? And also for DLC?
