$15 a month.
i shall investigate.. funny how both are $15 for rust, and that is one of the most expensive games to host.. others are like $2-7..
and neither site have a telephone contact.. yeah, i have like many questions and no way i will write them out...
btw, cata, can you list a few more? puhlease! neither have wa servers it seems, just sydney. i'd love to at least see a place that does wa.
oh wow. i decided to do the self hosting and it's a breeze and works well. i am god now. yay.. liked that post for you video linker, which is gay, i mean forum "liking". so for now i self host and seva-da-muny. yeah...
now with such server, obviously while i run it, someone else can join? strangers? or no? the server is local at 127.0.0.1, but i am not sure if it shows for others via the game server browser under community. or are those servers hosted via an ip address and that is why they show? i made the server 10 players, but i may make it 1. though how does that work anyway? and can servers be password protected?
after some hours, things are good. superyay!!!
i will now tweak and find a good map. tried some, but still looking for that sweetspot. using http://playrust.io/gallery/ to find a great seed. testing map sizes too...
rock and roll, babies....
oh yeah, and now, for sure, i will finally upgrade my pc with the gear i already have. that 32gb will be sweet...
Yes, I can google...
WA, Rust, $18/m.
Also, 127.0.0.1 isn't routable, its your loopback address.
You'll need to forward all the port(s) the game needs out to your external internet facing connection.
Then hope you've got a static IP address from your ISP.
And the game doesn't have vulnerabilities.
And you have good upload speed.
$18/m for a Rust instance in Perth and none of that is your problem.
Shit, ill host you a RUST instance in Melb for $10 a month!
like i stated, i'm self hosting games as i play. free and my 16gb system can handle it. so i found the prefect solution. better still, when i stop playing i shut down the server, so things don't go on while i don't play, which is a good thing.
in other words, i'm good. (but it's good to know about some hosting places, of which i am now aware)
