Hero, the Formula is serious overkill, according to buildzoid it has the exact same power delivery anyway.

    Nope, why?

Helps to keep the benchmark label in the graph.

    What are we looking at?

That makes a lot more sense.

Seems they forgot the #1 rule of memes: don't leave out the fucking context!

Wait... something's up with that benchmark.

The 16 core threadripper is way, way ahead of the 32 core.

    Weird.

No debt on me (aside hecs but my degree is paying off immensly)

Only reason i grabbed the cc is for the price proc and 0 fees.

That being said your right avoid all debt ;)

Ive always been given freebies/hanfmedowns/cheaoies off the forums...... Joys of being broke unistudent.

Felt fantastic getting this cpu, finally getting a top of the line cpu.

Worth it no regrets just wish asus werent pricks and locking ocing on the x370 chipset :(

Curious if anyone else on x370 is able to oc

I'll be having my 3700x delivered today and the plan is to pop it into my X370 Crosshair VI Extreme. Not looking forward to it though, have been reading up where the current bios is supplying way too much voltage to it. also on the latest bios my RAM won't go past 2133mhz on my 1800x.......... fail Asus?

Was about to say, the latest BIOS for my ROG C6H actually improved my ram speed too - got it up to 3400 without any issues. Waiting for my 3600 to arrive before trying to go higher.

I need to edit my post now, I swapped the Hero for a Formula, it was going to get here quicker.
I'll do the "spoke to soon" walk of shame now...

But I'm sure you'll want to see pics.... :p

I've seen a few reailers do this. The Formula is available before the hero so impatient people spend more on the board. I know retailers will make up some bullshit about the reasoning around this. The hater in me sees gouging and nothing else.

The MSI boards look the best to me. They are the only ones with S/PDIF port, and type-c usb 3.2 port.

Interesting that prices of x470 and b450/boards didn't drop either.

If you look specially at the x470 taichi. Which is one of the great boards of that gen. It's still over $300.

The msi b450 pro carbon. Which a few reviewers said is best b450 board is still over $200.

The entry level x570 boards slot between them.

Not sure what my point is. But i find it interesting there wasn't price drops so they can clear stock. Especially of x470 boards.

The Extremetech article that OJR linked above has an interesting comment in there how AMD have said that the X570 is supposed to sit in the stack with the X470 and B450 boards and is not a replacement. That might mean retailers aren't wanting to clear them out and explain why they haven't dropped in price yet.
