Well went shopping on my motorbike yesterday ( Triumph Thunderbird ) and half way to shopping centre realized I didn't have my helmet on...yes the brain is pretty much fried these days

So with hot weather coming and I live in a furnace I applied "throttle" ( eco-mode) ....so am assuming it pretty much steps your CPU say back to a 3800X but read the first sentence before commenting...anyway first time I have used Ryzen Master for anything but checking temps

I stressed the CPU by using CPU-Z and definitely saw a big reduction in score

Cool finally, should make a big difference to single threaded workloads that will be able to targets that one sweat core on your shiny 3950x that reliably hits 4.7ghz!

I was gonna cheap out and get a low TDP low core model, but all this news about 3950X, I think I will just have to get one. They turbo way higher, that win10 update means it will turbo more effectively, the eco-mode in AGESA 1004 means it can be energy efficient - I'm not seeing any down sides besides the higher price.

It's just because Intel were using that as a marketing point previously "lul we're better for gaming coz 1080p 240hz is better on our chips"

1909 made little to no difference for me in how windows selects cores

They totally should! and not JUST a turbo button, but a little readout right near it that tells you how extreme you really are.
Sure, you can see that info in BIOS, and your OS, and all the optimisation software. BUT having it displayed right in your face like that all the time! WOW!

Just imagine, instead of the 100/133.. Do the maths and workout how awesome that would be right now!

Hmmm wondering if anyone actually knows what the turbo button was for... it didn’t make computers faster...

Oh I know, there's a reason I mentioned Scorched Earth in particular

Little more on topic: So how about that 3950X huh?

Plz... 3950X is twice the price of a 9700K yet still can’t beat it on this one benchmark. AMD are you even trying?

3950 delivers what we expect. 16 core performance in a desktop consumer platform. Neat, I can put that into my ITX box.
I am impressed how close it is with intel on gaming benchmarks, just further highlights crowing about gaming superiority is pretty pointless these days.

What would be nice is a button to turn hyper threading on and off.
