still not sure why people are suggesting the "x" chips given there's so little performance improvement for not insignificant cost.

Streaming, video editing and office applications, no gaming. The parts should arrive this early this week.

Yeah would replace the stock paste, apparently it can stick to the CPU and make it hard to remove the cooler later

There's way too much TIM on the stock cooler, no wonder it sticks to the CPU after curing.

New X570 board installed and running well, clocks memory a bit better than my X470 Taichi as I'm now sitting at 3733 16-18-18 on 4 DIMMs instead of the 3600 16-18-18 I was at before, small bump but a welcome one :)

Picked up a Crosshair VIII Hero a couple weeks ago, it's possible I might be able to do 3800 but pushing the fclk higher isn't something I'm too keen on doing on a daily system :D

In a purely benching scenario it does this

    Crazy stuff from AMD...

    Over at Hacker News, this interesting comment on the available Gflops also surprised me;

AVX512 is rumoured to come in Zen 3.

I was thinking of swapping to the ROG Strix X570-E.

This gigabyte board blows. Initially it:

    1) Crashed often
    2) When crashing it would reset the bios
    3) Requires manual setting v1.35 to get 3200mhz on the memory despite selecting xmp profile.
    4) Wont wake up from sleep
    5) During shutdown, doesn't power off completely

After updating to latest bios, 3/4/5 still exist.

I used to sleep my computer and wake it up to resume each day, now I need to hard shut-down every day :(

I'm pretty happy with my ROG Strix x570-E MB though I've not yet tweaked the bios other than basic xmp profile enabled. Mostly because am lazy, it's working fine and trying to work out settings in BIOS does my head in these days. Too many brainfarts upstairs.

totally happy with my asus x570 tuf gaming.

and yea, bios has changed SO much in the last decade.
some is not user friendly and some doesn't make sense.

    I've got the same board.

None of that should be happening. Mine is rock solid.

    Return it.

If the ram is repurposed from an old build, try cleaning the fingers with alcohol.

Swapped twice, same issues. Ram is brand new (and replaced), GPU is new (and replaced). NVME is new.

Only thing old is the PSU which is ~6 years old, 750w corsair.

Yeah, I'll go with that lol. I look at it all now and if I'm honest I understand zero of it.

Rubber eraser across the fingers also works a treat.

I have a corsair RM750, 7+ years old still running great

    Yep.

    Send the board back.
You shouldn't be having any of those problems.
    I'm on the F5 bios.

Has it been like this since day one?

Have a ASUS Formula here, updated first Bios and have tweaked several times, can change ram and FLK like underpants, Rock solid.

Does seem off, from most of my reading when looking at x570 MB's the GB auroras-E was one of the better boards. Lots seem to be rocking fine with them, bloody gremlins get everywhere these days
