yeah gonna keep mine for a long time less i snag something deece used
Yeah that's it. I was on the whole RTX 3080 hype train (with a pre order placed at PLE), but upon reflection, I've been able to pickup a 2080Ti and the new x570 motherboard for LESS than what I was going to get a 3080 for. Plus, with the profits from selling my old 5700 XT, x370 mobo and AIO cooler, I might be able to snag a (rumoured) Ryzen 5600(non-x) next year.
Who has been trying out Clock Tuner Ryzen (CTR)? I was playing around with the v1.0 beta 3 for the last few weeks on my 3800X silver sample. I came to the conclusion that it is a good tool for learning more about your particular silicon but I found I still got more stable results by manually adjusting voltage and clocks and then stability testing with Prime95.
Today I downloaded the latest version released yesterday v1.1 beta 3 and did the same testing I was doing with the previous version and it passed the diagnostic tests fine although I noticed the diagnostic test voltages were much lower throughout the test. That's just how the new version is I suppose. Then I ran the actual clock tuning and it completed the CB R20 base line as expected but the system rebooted immediately upon starting the first built-in Prime95 test.
I'm putting this down to a bug in the new version because all tests completed just fine with the exact same settings on the previous version. It's still an exciting project and cool to play around with but as a seasoned overclocker it isn't much more than that for my purposes. I'll keep up with the project though to see how it matures.

edit: added extra notes
New Ryzen Power plan supported - could be useful to some people. Also new PCI device driver. As well as new I2C driver, which notes "clock frequency tuning".
Cheers, updated notes with pieces from the table
The CTR utility has allowed its creator to make this interesting chart;
Unfortunately he is not able to sort the 3600 data by date of manufacture.
ok so system is upand running, 3300x, asus b450-f strix, crucial 3600mhz cl16
i have never owned amd in near 17 yrs what do i do ?
I have installed the chipset drivers -the ryzen power plan gpu drivers set xmp in bios installed ryzen master
is there anything else i should do ? lower volts ? cpu is kinda hot on idle 35 to 40 c even with noctua u2s on it remounted it same result
not too sure if good or bad?
Looks OK to me. Sorry, I don't bench with Aida usually so mine is the trial version. You have some faster numbers due to fewer cores, and some lower numbers due to less cache and less cores, but overall, about what you'd expect.
anyone else with zen1/1+/2/xt made the jump straight to zen3?
Well, I'm hoping that someone will release a way to get a b350 board to work with zen 3, apparently it's been done on an A320 mobo (!!)
If that happens then I'm pretty keen on getting a 5600x to replace my r5 1600 one day when it's cheap. Maybe when AM5 comes out, by then it'll be cheap.
I think OJR is going from a 3950X to a 5900X, but awaiting delivery still.
Well I went from a 3950X back to my old 3700X then to a 5800X while waiting for my 5900X.
haha shit and i thought 1600x to 2700x to 5600x was dumb
I also had 2x 1800Xs a 1700 and a 2700X before those.
Anyone have a cheap zen2 I could borrow to update my B550-F?
You send it to me I'll send it back or if anyone is around Coffs Harbour area NSW with one
