No idea mate... there is zero news around about pcie 6. For pcie 5 the distance to the connectors could be an issue. Some motherboards may only have 1 or 2 pcie 5 slots. IBM is shipping pcie 4 server solutions now. v1 of pcie 5 is due q2 next year.

Can we crowdfund an UberEat delivery of coffee and donuts to Agg for a 4am delivery so we'll be able to get an early morning front page CES summary? :D

Why would AMD CES presentation described as being held at 4am EST when its being held in Las Vegas that uses the PST timezone? :)

Yeah surprised at that date. Could it be related to the pcie 4 design work by their board partners?

I’m guessing that has something to do with it, and the fact a sample chip was being shown, not final silicon, and there’s probably some 2000 series they want to clear first.

Still makes my 1800x look like a paperweight.
At least they’re keeping up the good work on the CPU front from the looks of it. :)

So what’s the tl;dr version? Is CJ crying into his bong or what?

Cpus looking good, he’ll do a little crying just to top up the bong water, but he’ll ignore any facts and make up bullshit to hate on them anyway.
Even if they use less power and do better at any given task, he still won’t be able to get RAM running properly.

GPU front... well, prepare for the CJ shitstorm because it’s not good.

I look forward to the inevitable intelligent discussions of the CPUs till one or more likely both of you are temp banned.

Keynote a little cringe - and for all their bluster about "firsts" no huge surprises. Even the 7nm Vega 7 II, whilst being a nice surprise, is only a stop gap measure until Navi in 2nd half of year - which seems to be when all the true action will take place.
