Try to add to cart and says out of stock. Page says "preorder"
Fucking hell Centrecom.
After Umart's 30 something minutes of fame yesterday they should have at least one 5900X available of which I am aware.
Yeah I noticed it changed not long after I posted here.
Also wouldn't let me do in store pickup on a preorder item, which is annoying since the nearest store is about 5 minutes away. At least they didnt sting me for shipping though.
I can't believe people are still waiting on this stuff. It seemed the drought had broken and there were Ryzens everywhere except at PCCG. PCCG may have just been over subscribed.
Nitrogen!. Plain old water has an amazing effect!
It is tempting to put my whole ITX case into a fridge and see what it can do!
Well to be fair I did order my 5900X from PCCG last week and changed my order yesterday so they had to stuff around and refund me so I'll be waiting a little longer now.
I think PCCG had a shit ton of Zen 3 orders, probably more than they should've. They also haven't opened up the main store again so everything has to be shipped out. I'm wondering if maybe all the staff aren't working either? Maybe there running a skeleton crew like they had to during covid restrictions.
I do think PCCG and Scorptech were hit hard. I guess these were trusted retailers, they also had preorder/early order programs, probably attracted most of the pre order market. Who the hell is going to pre order at MSY or dodgy bros? Amazon and some others like newegg looked like they were going to try profiteering..
Someone like Umart, just put them up on the website when they came and and then shipped them out.
On looking back on it.. I am totally happy I jumped onto Umart when the 5950x's came in.
I got it much quicker, and now I cant think of owning anything less.. Dam you AMD!
Cancelled my centrecom preorder from last week and picked up my 5900x from Umart today
5900x shipping from PCCG as of today ordered @ 1:01:57am on launch!
I think if you order well within a minute of the product going live you will get it at the earliest time, at least with PCCG.
The best place to order from seems to be Umart or Mwave, places that don't take pre orders and only sell stock they have on hand.
im totally impressed by my 5800x.
2000 mHz IF rock stable mems at 4000 c16 16 16 36 1T.
can boot IF 2133mhz as well. but havnt tried tinkering too much as 4000 c16 vs 4266 c19 isnt going to be very beneficial.
still have no ETA on my 5950x from PLE and 5900x from Scorptec. getting really close to cancelling the 5900x, since this 5800x seems like a really good chip.
2x240mm rad in look under EK block and 3080.
games cpu sits on 42-44 degrees, cinebench around 70-75.
main reason i wanted to try 5800x was 8 cores single ccx, felt maybe would be slightly better binned then 5600x and 5900x as the are 6core ccx single and dual respectively.
unsure if they are just 8 core ccxs with 2 cores disabled or if thats a bit of a wives tale.
but also want to try 5900x/5950x to see if IF is as good on them as my 5800x, or if i got really lucky, or due to design 5600x/5800x were alwqys going to push IF faster. interesting!
PLE is still holding my eta at 20/11. Fingers crossed the dont change it again on the 20th!
Done much gaming at 2000IF?
Apparently PCI4 gets weird a bit over 1900 at the moment but the next agesa update should sort it out.
Won't have mine up and running till the weekend at the earliest, so have spent the last few days reading up on em and how the curve optimser works to tweak single/multi threaded loads. Bit more complicated than the ol 8086k. lol
CCX1 4400 (91.3c)
CCX2 4300 (83.3c)
@ 1.256v set 1.206v get
138W CPU power
Aiming for efficiency by keeping it within the stock power envelope of 142W because it is in an ITX build with a 280mm AIO. Also RAM is just plain old 2x16GB 3600C16 G.Skill TridentZ NEO set to XMP.
What a beast these CPUs are, pretty happy with that for a daily OC. Interesting to note the temp difference between each CCX, the only difference between them is the clock. I can push both an extra 50MHz but not 100% stable so I backed them off and landed at 4400 and 4300.
Kicked my brand spanking new 5950x in the guts for the first time tonight, did some very quick tweaking in bios and jumped straight into some benchmarks. In cpu-z had single score of 680.6, multi of 12290.5. in cinebench R20 single of 631 and multi of 10193. In everyones favourite, userbench, lol, 169 single core which puts it near the very top there for this cpu.
I also got rid of the crappy thermal pad from the chipset in my aorus master and replaced it with kryonaut and it seems to have dropped the chipset temps down between 8-10 degrees. What a shit of a job it is though.
Idle temps are mainly in the mid 30s which is about 10 degrees cooler than my 3900x was. Highest temp so far was 72.3 in one of the benchmarks.
Also had 6 of the 16 cores boost into the 5 ghz range, blown away by that.
Nice, what motherboard and RAM are you using and how are they configured?
X570 master, gskill 32gb 3600 16 16 16 36.
Running everything stock, prob wont tweak or oc anything, pbo is enough for me.
The thing is a fricken beast all the same.
The ram is just running it's stock timings, just set the IF to 1800 that is all.
yea, been gaming flat out pre much since Sunday, watchdogs and dead by daylight.
system rock solid. performance solid.
didnt get a big difference in TimeSpy 3700x/3080/3600c14 vs 5800x/3080/4000c16, so want to run TimeSpy with 5800x/3080 and mems at 3600c14, to see if there is a peformance gain there or not.
Just loving running IF 2000 at present (need more benches to determine if can get more out of 1800/1900 IF)
Very nice. Look forward to having a play with mine finally. Especially after using this dual core laptop for the last week. bahaha
Seems that curve optimiser is a game changer, not having to sacrifice low thread clocks to get all core clocks up with these.
Hopefully it aint too time consuming to get tweaked up.
