Heh, Even at 4.5/1.2V manual clocks, the 5950x puts out some serious heat.
Might reseat the waterblock at some stage and see if that helps.
But PBO is just too easy. One click and she handles herself pretty well.

Logged stats during a full day of usage including hours of gaming, some benchmark runs and general use in between. No aircon today and ambient room temp ranging from 20-26c. Not shown but max CPU fan speed is 1300rpm.

Games including Rocket League (lol), Control, Fallen Order.

To say I am happy with how this build has turned out is an understatement. 12 cores tamed by a budget 240mm EK AIO boosting to its hearts content. Happy days

Yeah, was playing with the curve optimiser a bit tonight and tweaking the pbo limits. Seems less is more when it comes to EDC limits. Past 190 and she actually gets slower.

Pretty happy with the way its turning out. Got ram backed down to 3200 from 4000 until a new bios comes out, but still fast as shit.

Hits about 82'c running cinebench, about 60'c in games. Warm, but tolerable. :D

Good to see that I’m not the only one with much lower performance on the second CCD. It seems the second chiplet on these new CPUs is a much lower bin than the first chiplet.

    we've seen this before.
epyc and tr get two high(er) binned chiplets.
AMD have nailed this chiplet mcm setup for performance and for maximum $ return.

Yeah that is pretty normal, I had a similar situation with my 3700x. Still super happy with it and they finally deliver on the advertised boost clocks (and then some) :D. I assume most gaming load would be targeting CCD1 anyway.

I tried this too, no PBO or anything enabled. It looks like I do have some cores hitting the advertised 4.9Ghz and sometimes beyond:

Less difference between the CCDs but one is definitely better.

CCD1 is super sweet, but CCD2 is meh. Can you half win the lottery? haha

It seems 5800X has just one good CCD.

It wasn't am online store but a small shop in Adelaide, I had asked them to advise me to keep one, and he let me know that one came in and he put it aside, picked it up this morning.

Now hoping to get some batch number info

I'm seeing a similar pattern on mine too (5.041 max on ccd1 and 4.816 max on ccd2). I expect it's a conscious decision by AMD to create more supply while not having any real-world disadvantage.

    Is a 5600x a binned 5800x? No 5700x?

its a 8 core thats failed validation.
