Ordered a 5800x today for a new toy to tinker with. Keen to have a play around with the new PBO2 and per-core curve optimiser to see what i can squeeze out of it.

I'm tempted too, what's a decent cheap ass cooler planning to run stock

Edit: Comes with a cheapass cooler.

I don't think longevity will count for much in a few years comparing this to a 3600 so would rather save a few bucks....

    Asus PRIME-A520M-K AM4

So just bought the CPU with the above motherboard, would the 3300X be better off in an old B350(Asrock B350M PRO4) board or the A520 if I got an itch to muck around with some tuning:confused:.

B350 supports up to 3200mhz on memory and CPU overclocking.

A520 supports up to 4800mhz memory but no CPU overclocking.

id stick with the a520 board and be happy
if you can tweak the ram a little than that'd be 95+% of any gains you're likely to ever see anyway

48x all core, that sounds really good!
I'll have a similar set-up being that I'll be using a 280mm AIO to cool the 5900x (once it arrives).

Do you mind sharing what you did in bios to achieve this? New to AMD, and could get all the help I can.

Some guy on twitter posted this delivery schedule of high end CPUs for the UK. Any ideas if this is accurate, and if there's similar info for Australia?

The dates are a week apart mate, so yes they seem to be a weekly allocation

    Ryzen 5 3600 - $239
    Ryzen 7 3700X - $403
    Ryzen 5 5800X - $563

Some good deals on Ryzen cpus through eBay, I bought the 3600 using afterpay didn't go through with the 3300 deal + motherboard ....

Edit: Someone mentioned you can stack these deals with afterpay sign up bonus for another $30 if you don't already have afterpay, who's paying all this?

I'm not a regular user of afterpay but Evey now and then these good deals pop up.
