    Our Ryzen 9s boost to over 5Ghz anyway. I am happy with 5950X that peaks at 5150Mhz.

    Oh yeah, i should really check that.

    I've got the cheap anus board so i reckon my boosts are lower and temps higher than yours though

    I should have had a look at that on the weekend. Remind me, are you on an AiO now or still D15?

    My 5900x routinely boosted to 5ghz+ on an itx anus b550 board, I don't reckon the board has a huge influence on pbo parameters given these cpus don't need to gulp down 300w to boost up.

    This is why you got it for less than RRP.

    I don't think there is any need for FOMO over the new stepping. AMD released a statement saying it brings no significant performance or operational changes. Of course they don't want to cannibalise sales of their current CPUs but they could probably shit in their cpu boxes before shipping them out right now and people would still line up for the 5900/50x.

    I wouldn't be amazed if boosting and frequencies improve over time though I suppose, we saw it with the maturation of the Zen 2 process but Zen 3 is already a continuation of that.

    stepping change is mostly fixing the little things that are worked around or covered up by bios.
    but some big changes have occurred over the years of course the b2 stepping of the original phenom chips was a bit of a game changer iirc

    From the article above...
    The leak said no such thing. He just posted some details on two B2 stepping sku's. He said nothing about XT branded cpu's.

    There are still elements of the rumour mill that reckons we will get new AMD cpu's this year, but the noise is vague and formless;
    All from https://twitter.com/Broly_X1

    I can only think of Rembrandt (Zen3(+?) with RDNA2) packaged for AM4(5?) fitting the scenario above.

    Others are saying that Zen4 is coming early, but that might be Zen4 server sku's.
