Is anyone using Core Cycler to test stability? I just gave it a go and my 5800X fails on its best cores with PBO set to Auto :/

Try it again with PBO off. From the Core Cycler readme it sounds like PBO voids the warranty of your cpu. If you have issues, sounds like its old school overclocking (automated from the manufacturer) just going a little too far on your best core.

    I've tried the following scenarios:
    • PBO = Auto it fails (Optimised Defaults)
    • PBO = Disabled it passes
Interesting that Asus have PBO on by default - doesn't that mean my Warranty is automatically void lol

I guess I'm going to try and RMA... although I wonder if I'll get knocked back since it works with PBO disabled :(

PBO is an advertised feature. If it doesn't work as intended they cannot reject it.

My RMA has been approved already. And I've ordered a new 5800X as well so I'm not stuck without a CPU for a while.

Oh man I hope the B2 stepping is just a manufacturing change and not performance like all the news outlets are saying

Some say that the B2 stepping chips have the same product code, so it won't be a separate product release purely based on the B2 status. They might be doing something more to do an XT release, if that is what they are doing.

If you can't watch youtube, Ian from Anandtech are doing a live blog of the presentation - https://www.anandtech.com/show/16722/computex-2021-amds-keynote-a-live-blog-10pm-et - starting shortly.

Edit: no leather jacket... but stiletto's are on point
