former ocau member court jester intel zealot many people across the internet in AU called him a cock holstering oxygen thief. the rest are wrong.
Just found out strix has a b550a which is white/silver haha looks like someone will get a discounted regular strix b550f now Will make my nickle loop look way better!
ASUS have announced a lot of "refresh" 500 series motherboards so I am expecting the other manufacturers to do similar. Might be a few bargains to pick up so keep your eyes open. From a lot of your posts I can see that you put together some very aesthetically pleasing systems so this could be a good time to be you .
i saw a YT vid where they said the "a" variants were OEM only .... or was that just for b450a for the pcie4 marketing lols ?
Announced as in there are more on the way? I was actually gonna take some of the covers off and get them painted now no need! I am definitely all about the aesthetically pleasing
Ah, sorry. It appears they are new boards, not refreshes. These are the three I know about: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-Crosshair-VIII-Dark-Hero/ https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/TUF-GAMING-X570-PRO-WI-FI/ https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-Strix-B550-XE-Gaming-WIFI/
https://www.anandtech.com/show/14983/amd-b550a-chipset-oem-only-pcie-30 so in summary b550a is not b550-a
oh nice! I can’t help the aesthetics side of building haha I just bought the b550-a on Amazon will be mine on the 30th. Either someone here will pick up a b550-f cheap or I’ll use it in another build
Not sure if alteady been posted, but been plenty of Geekbench results going up on the database. One of The 5950X is aleady in the top 10 Single core (9th) with a score of 1663 ST, second only to 6Ghz+ 9900Ks / 10xxxx etc Probably the most interesting part is they're hitting a smidge over 5Ghz single core turbo - seems AMD in contrast to the 3000 series , are instead being conservative with their top turbo frequency claims (4.9Ghz) https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/4282216 and no it's not just a one off, there's other results there, also hitting 5Ghz. Secondly, a 5900X locked to 4.5Ghz All core.. https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/4306615 Possibly an indication of what to expect (at least) for All core OC's, but Geekbench isn't a particuarly long workload, so hard to tell.
This is exciting to see! I couldn’t be more stoked I’m a strix fanboy so any chance to go strix but I almost went as rock or something else here for aesthetics!
