Been pushing my voltage down @ 3800mHz ..
I did start at 3600 but then decided to go to 3800 to facilitate a faster crash .
Been running cinebench for 10 minute benchies and 3D mark + OBS video recording .
CPU is set to 1 volt in the bios ..
And at last I at least dropped my benchmark score some .
So 1 volt might be where I have hit a wall ? ( Maybe )

I dont have the cooling for overclocking , but later this year I may need a new case and a much larger water cooling solution .
I will do some more stability testing , and if it's all good . I might leave it at 1 volt

No crash - 3D Mark 11 + OBS recording video

I bumped the mhz to 4000 after seeing that people could get 4ghz @ 1 volt ...

And my R23 score is up from previous attempts ..

So of course I had to push the cpu harder .

    4ghz @ 1 volt .
Running R23 / OBS video screen capture / VLC media player / CPUID is neither here nor there . + All the other regular Win 10 functions etc .
    Ok , so I am really glad I got the 3600 ( upgraded from the 2600 )

Haha incredible isn't it. You're tempting me to try it.

I'm at 1.25v 4.3Ghz all core without doing any trial and error at all. Not even sure I can be bothered trying to find my lowest voltage or highest clock as 6c/12t at 4.3ghz is a beast.

I'm going to have to try this on my Ryzen 5 3600, since it's going into a 7 litre Silverstone ML09 SFF build

Might have to try this to deal with the wraith noise of my 3700x in my NR200. PBO used to glitch and boost to 4.3GHz with only 1v, had to disable it because it was causing random BSOD. Would be mighty tempting to have 4GHz at 1v.

my 3600 does 4250 100% load all cores simultaneously at 1.175vcore

but lighter loads will manage 4400/4375 at 1.263v

and gaming does 4630 at 1.375v (on the best 2 cores), and 4600 on the next 2

idling at 3.8 reads 1.096v in cpuz

(i confess i let ctr sort out the settings for me, but stress testing with prime is rock solid with them dialled in, and browsing at 3.8 has the cpu at 34c (air)

    So far so good ...
Havent made any changes .. 4ghz @ 1 volt with 120mm water cooling and push pull fans .
Would love a 280 water cooler .. Just cant find a case thats better than what I have ..

this was me after ctr2.1rc5 did the tune up :leet:

there's room to up the volts and speed no doubt, but 1.175v benching is happy for me

dunno why it says 3.61ghz; 4.25 is what hwmonitor tells me

i strongly encourage you to let ctr do you a favour

I want to keep temps and Noise down ..
I only have a single 120 Rad with push pull fans .. 4ghz is what I can tolerate ( fan noise )
Plan to upgrade cooling to 240 or 280 later in the year . ( Which may require a new case )

I used to run 3ghz for that nice silent hum ..
But I edit a lot of video , and the increase in video processing power from going to 4ghz ..
So there is only fan noise when I do something CPU intensive ..
+ My CPU is locked in at 4ghz 24/7

Im keeping my eye out for a 140 fan case ( fitted with 140mm fans )
I have an old Antec case , single 140 at the top . And I cant find a better case ..
So I may have to chop this one up to remove the drive bays and 120 fan enclosure .. To make room for a 240 or 280 .
    Though I run a lot of drives ( 2xNVme ) 1xSSD , 2x HDD , 2xDVD internally . I might have to get me a dual drive dock ( external ) , though I already have a single HDD external ( drive dock )

my case has 120 front and back, 140 (x1) on the noctua, and at the top

the psu usually runs fan off by default

just checked - 4.25 all cores at 1.176 is very soft whoosh in the lian li case about 600mm away on the desktop to my left, and sitting at 57c - though i confess it's cold here in sydney today, though ambient with reverse cycle is set at 22c

why lock at 4ghz ? it's more efficient to let the amd choose what cores and speeds to use, but as already pointed out, you can use ctr to define your own preferred profiles for "heavy" workload, and let it run frugally (or enthusiastically with less cores)

if it runs 2 cores at 4.6 the temp climbs to 62c, although the fans are slightly louder - as that's usually the way it runs for gaming only, it isn't that intrusive

again, i strongly recommend you have a play with ctr

edit : my case has nvme, 2 x sata ssd and a sata hdd and 1 multi-dvd drive

Just surfin the net - 26C/27C Also about half a meter to my left ..
Room is about 19C ( 12.4 outside ) ... But my voltage to the CPU cores is variable .. So at idle they pull little current .
I actually like to keep my CPU under 50C - even under 100% load .

just surfin' the net here with 2 cores intermittently at 4.6 but mostly at 3.8 = 33c

variable voltage is the win - mine bottoms out at 0.272v, but the slowest core doesn't dip under 3.7ghz (probably asleep)

50c is coolio - where are you located ?
