There is 1TB on a single memory chip now, so 4 and 8TB shouldn't be too far off, depending on how long they want to milk the lower capacity M2 cards.

This is why Samsung were offering cashbacks with the 950 pro. There are new models on the horizon.

Once I get my PCI-e boot issues sorted I'm planning to use my 512GB 950 for a ZFS (or BtrFS) cache and a few other bits.

I completely forgot about that... I'll need to see if/when I got the money. :)

EDIT: Still pending, at 27 of the 28 days for processing according to the terms and conditions.

Yup I'm still waiting for my rebate as well. It's been a while here as well.

Terms and conditions specified it'd be processed in 28 days. Doesn't say if only business days however.

So i just bought a 256gb 950 pro yesterday and its still in the box, would people be recommending i try taking it back and ordering a SM961 from ramcity??

Or do the OEM downfalls outweigh the speed increase? Price is exactly the same.

You won't be able to tell the difference in performance in day to day tasks.

$500?? they're a fair bit cheaper than that. I got mine for $369 with cashback earlier but they've dropped to around that standard price now.

I thought the 512 950 Pro was still faster in some tests? And that was vs the 1TB 961.. haven't seen any for the 512 yet. But still... 360 for 961 seems too good to pass up

Yep, RamCity is the only place I know offering them, but they're currently on backorder. If the figures on this page are accurate they have 60 backorders and are only expecting ~30 units in the next shipment on Aug 10. Long wait...
