    "The super ultra-wide Samsung C49HG90 49-inch screen with its innovative 32:9 aspect ratio means you get to see game scenes in their entirety, exactly as their developers intended."... if there are any game devs that are designing game scenes according to a 32:9 aspect ratio, they should not be game devs...

    doesn't include g-sync or freesync.

    honestly a great idea for people rocking two or three monitor setups who want to get rid of bezel's in the middle of their game's

    Exactly half UHD resolution, so still gona require a half decent GPU to drive this thing properly. The crazy aspect ratio is going to make a lot of games look funny. It will be king for productivity, spreadsheet coloums for days....

    This thing supports freesync 2.....

    Won't be half bad for video people as well since it support 93% DCI-P3 color space.

    What are people's opinion on the technical specifications vs. the price? Is the price justified considering the probable performance compared to other models on the market?

    I bought an LG-34UC98 and am wondering if it would be worth the effort for the extra frames in FPS games.

    After 1440p for years, 1080 is no where near enough vertical real-estate : mail slot effect.

    just saw this as well, the same words came out of my mouth as well, i actually grabbed a tape measure, pulled out the size and again holy fuck!!! I'll consider this in 6-8 weeks, i want to read some reviews first. Price is good for what it is. It actually has 800,000 less pixles than my 34" UW

    Looks like its connected to HDMI not DP, it's only running at 120Hz.

    At $2.5K that's well over what I'm ever prepared to pay for a desktop monitor.

    Sounds gorgeous though. At that price I'd be wanting to keep it for quite a while.

    the 27" 2560x1440p model is much more tempting.. if only G-Sync!

    https://www.pccasegear.com/products/40884/samsung-27hg70-27in-hdr-qled-144hz-gaming-monitor

    Epic blacks being VA and entry level HDR (beats no HDR!) that peaks @ 600nits in HDR content and 3000:1 contrast ratio (not the 1000 nits and 20000:1 needed for HDR10).

    If I had a Vega, hands down would be the monitor I would choose.

    1440p
    144hz
    VA panel
    1ms*
    Quantum dot
    1 billion colors
    freesync
    backlight strobing (equivalent to ULMB)

    Yummy.

    *1ms perceived response time, some sort of trickery

    Looks like a great gaming panel, but way to wide for my tastes. And not interested in curved displays.

    Personally I want:
    * 32"
    * 1440P. 16:9.
    * No curve.
    * 120hz+
    * No LED gimmicks.
    * 10bit (HDR would be great)
    * Doesn't cost the Earth.

    Why is that so hard? :upset:
