Does anyone have any thoughts over iPhone 8 plus compared to S8?

S8 is great, nice and quick, screen is sweet, battery life is great, plenty of regular updates, expandable memory, wireless charging, water resistant - and still has a headphone jack.

Plus you get to run whatever home launcher you want, I am running Nova Launcher at the moment.

The iPhone 8+ is one of the most boring phones be released in 2017. It isn't a big upgrade from the iPhone 7+ and still has the form factor of the iPhone 6+ from 3 years ago, not to mention it's not cheap either. However, you do get a super fast and stable phone what will easily last 2-3 year if not more.

S8, excellent bezel-less AMOLED screen, decently fast, great form factor, SD card slot, headphone jack, lots of features. But then it's a Samsung, which will probably slow down and lag after a year or so before you are forced to wipe memory/clear cache to get it fast again. If you're thinking about the S8 at this point in time it's better to wait for the S9, which will probably unveil in the next 2 months or so.

Will it still be as fast in 2-3years as the day it left the factory?

I'm having some issues with my month old S8. Voda rang me, did the usual valued customer spiel, new phone, change plan, more data etc etc. I knew the S9 was coming out, but didn't care really. So the problem is with the screen; the lower right quadrant of the screen is over sensitive, detects phantom touches which all makes typing a message a nightmare. I can be typing and I will suddenly be in capitals, adding spaces and pressing enter to take the line of text down to the next line. This isn't a case of fat fingers either as I've tried with a stylus and it still happens, but not as much. It's a pain, a really big pain. Even if I slow down typing, it gets better but doesn't stop altogether; I've also turned the screen sensitivity up and down for the home button press as I'd read someone tried that and it worked, but not for me. I got the shits badly enough with it and swapped back to my old S7 and don't want to change back again. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix it? Otherwise I'm going to have to make the trip to a voda store and get it either warranty repaired or replaced.

Wow, almost enough to make you want to do it yourself.

I paid $220 as well. The phone also came back with a new battery, the camera replaced (had auto focus issues) and new midframe that was damaged when it was dropped for no extra cost.

Had mine since day 1, I've found lately the battery has been alot worse then it used to be. Anyone else found the same? Got an extended warranty and thought about trying that option but not sure how my luck would go. Always close apps when I'm not using them and restart the phone sometimes too

I've noticed with the new Orea update that DeX has been improved. It now supports 2560x1440 resolution instead of just 1920x1080 and has a few other small tweaks. Its really quite usable if all you need is word processing & web browsing.
