Incremental upgrade ahoy! Only upgrade if your plan is expiring or if you are on a S7 generation or older. If you have a S8 or newer, don't bother.

    $1,500

I said no to Apple for this ridiculousness, and I will say no to Samsung too.

Give it 3-5 months and it will be edging closer to $1,000 as always. Especially for an camera/processor upgrade only

What will this do my S8 can't? Will the processor permit conversations I didn't want to have to end quicker?

256g s9+ might be a decent phone with stereo speakers and something good from the 3.5mm.

Im actually interested in tge stereo speakers... Cant tell from the promo how its implemented. Using the note 8 and the single speaker is tge worst thing about the phone. Worth upgrading alone if its good.

Definitely NOT incremental. The previous Galaxy had that really BIG ERROR that the reviewers "forgot".

Finally the fingerprint sensor is no longer forcing us to smudge the camera lens, etc.

This first "9" series is the top-line model.
The other follow-on models are much more interesting: NOTE-9, Active-9, and the low & medium-prices models, with the "9" series features.
These other models often have dual-SIM and other features. Also, the "older" series (6, 7, 8) will be sometimes available at reduced prices, new or as-new, compared to the prices before the release of this latest "9" series.

Pretty sure I won't be moving from my S8.

Hopefully they have better glass this time.

Agreed. Not unless Telstra want to trade-up to an S9 for free (like they did for the S7->S8 last year). :)

S8+ here. The camera has been somewhat of a let down on this, probably my only real gripe. Considering trading up for the S9+ purely for the camera, if it's as good as they promote it to be then the S9+ would happily see me a few years. Low light capability has my attention, every phone I've had has been trash for low light.

I don't use a glass projector and my note 8.. screen is still good. I would have used one but the ones i bought didn't fit. No scratches so all good.

I skipped the 8 for a few reasons, but this looks tasty so will be preordering one. I've been using my S6 for way too long. Telstra is hella expensive on this bastard so will be jumping ship this time around.

Does anyone know if they have fixed the slow motion flicker in PAL regions? It seems that the camera in the s8 only supports ntsc multiples (60,120,240 fps) and not pal (50,100,200) multiples as a result night slow motion has terrible flicker. I've got the S8 and get super disappointing results under artificial light.

doubtful. every samsung device i've owned since my s2 has shattered with the slightest drops. glad they put the headphone jack back in, but the dual camera is only on the s9+? wtf? -- also still hate the curved edge glass.

Nothing wrong with my S7 Edge...certainly not worth selling for.. (looks up ebay...) My GOD, $100!
JESUS H Christ on a stick! The depreciation...it hurts!!

I am OFF this bandwagon, high end phones that depreciate 90% in two years can fuck right off!

    That's bollocks that is...why the world markets don't rebel I don't know.

New phones are maybe 5% better each year, so WHY CHANGE?

    Sad, society is sad.
