Isnt it only another well known brand that does that?
Reminds me of Windows 98 in a way, reformat and install every 6 months kept it fresh. I think its the constant updating of apps and more and more stuff running in the background.
My Note 5 is still fast but that is partly maybe because i am forced to go into safe mode and wipe the cache every time the battery hits 0% to get it to charge
Picked up an s9+ from jb for$299 on Friday.
Pretty happy so far.
Anything would be an upgrade from the iPhone 3gs I had been rockin
Errrrr, had some gift vouchers to use?
$800 Discount. Black Friday. I guess I picked the right day to get a new phone
Phone is owned outright and fully unlocked but I did have to sign up with Telstra. I am on 80 gigs per month for 65 bucks but I can change that. I don't have any home broadband and this 4G with Telstra is plenty fast so I think I'll stick with it.
256gb too. Sucker has as much storage as my mbp...
That's an insanely good deal, I don't even know how they can do it. Surprised I didn't come across it.
Yeah I went in there looking for a Nokia or something at that price point and walked out very happy. They were also doing pixels on the same deal.
Very lucky. Same day I also got my son a telescope for the Australian Geographic shop for half price. Couldn't believe my luck.
What the hell is Black Friday anyway?
A retail produced shopping frenzy day, originating in the US I believe, and now filtering through to Aus. It promises absolutely crazy deals/prices for those retailers participating, giving much better discounts than you might normally get throughout the year.
That certainly came true for you!
Has anybody installed f.lux on this phone?
I am hesitant to root it just yet, but the default blue light filter doesn't cut it and I am not aware of any apps that work as well as f.lux.
Might try the Whitestone Dome protector which apparentely filters 25% of blue light as well as protecting the screen.
Doesn't look like many people
What exactly does this achieve? better for your eyes?
Yes. Blue light kills light receptive neurons, particularly as we age, and messes with your circadian regulation.
F.lux is a great solution. I have been using it on my MacBook Pro and last android phone and find it has a huge impact on my eyes and brain.
New update just rolled out a few days ago.
still waiting for android 9.0...
What's so good about Pie?
I use Twilight and I think it is pretty good although I have not tested others.
Just installed the 9.0 stable release. Happy with it so far. Night mode for menus is great. Like the swipe gestures too. Haven't tried dex yet, no usbc to HDMI. But will so. These were the 3 main features I was waiting for
Been really enjoying the camera on this phone over the break. Amazed how good the zoom is for a phone. Quite outstanding!
