UK keyboard hasn't bothered me much really.

Shipping is outrageous.. but even with that it's still a cheap alternative to the local options. Handtec charged 44 pounds for fedex international shipping - which brought the total cost to AU$660 shipped to my door for me.

OTOH - the Fedex shipping is great for those who suffer from impatience .. I ordered mine monday morning and it arrived thursday lunchtime! Most Australian retailers can't come close to that speed for me.

I've seen US style NC10 keyboards on Ebay from Hong Kong for around AU$40. Only seen white so far, I'm waiting for a black one.

Why do you want a whole keyboard tho.. the keys are the same.. just a couple of them are mapped differently.

If you're really worried.. pick another keyboard map in your OS and get some replacement stickers to put on the keys!

That second one really put me off, thinking its the UK keyboard!
But since thats not the case, the minor change in some symbol keys shouldnt have any affect!

Samsung Australia pulled out of the laptop game a few years back. They don't sell laptops in Australia anymore.

    Ahh.. interesting!
Will be good to see if they do - they're definitely the best netbook out there - it's just availability that is preventing it from being more popular.

im lookin to upgrade to 2GB ram
i understand that theres only one ram slot, so i should buy a 2GB stick instead of getting another 1GB one. Can someone jst confirm that?

    also which DDR2 should i get 667 or 800 Mhz ?
    thanks

I used Kingston's ram finder and it suggested a PC2-5300 dimm, but when I pulled my existing ram out I noticed that it was actually a 1GB PC2-6400 ram inside.

So I'd prolly go for PC2-6400 if you can, but don't think there'd be much performance difference between them tbh.
