Yeah, my current LG 27" has USB-C and it powers my macbook and carries video/ethernet etc. makes life a lot easier.

Ah right, so the monitor acts like a hub. The G9 certainly lacks network input and I don't believe it can do significant power delivery over its USB ports so it wouldn't be much help there.

    Such a wide boi.

Do games have much issue support the ultra wide ratio. I remember the fallout 4 and quite a number of others needing 3rd party support to get rid of black side boarders

Most modern games seem to be fine. Happy to test them out if you have specific games you're curious about.

How are you finding it? Looking at this myself; can't justify premium for the G9 especially when it its 90% spreadsheets and 10% games these days.

    Previously had an Asus 24" 120Hz 1080p

Mainly bought it for driving sims, don't think I would have bought one for regular gaming. It is wide. Probably would have gone with an ultrawide, was looking at LG GN850B IPS 3440x1440 for about same price.
But for production/creativity/driving sims, i can recommend. You can open multiple windows without encroaching on each other. I'm not a colour expert so i don't know if the VA panel affects things.

Have got most of my sims working ok on it. Grand Prix Legends was a bit iffy, requiring OpenGL to get a big enough image. Going full screen squishes the image and isn't right. It is an old DX7 game. So far it's running 2560x1440, need to seek out a fix.(edit: fixed with couple of programs, GEM+ and GPLshift. Now running fullscreen.)

Samsung C49RG90 120Hz and American Truck Simulator
My current 5700XT struggles a little in this, had to drop some detail

Looks great, have you had a chance to play with the inbuilt window settings? I'd love to have 4~ windows up side by side but would hate to have to manually move and shape each window with the mouse.

Im a big fan of windows snap (windows key + direction) but don't think theres a way to set it to snap windows to anything other than half screen or quarter screen.

I have access to pricing at $1450, trying to deliberate whether its worth it or just go for 2x 27" higher refresh WQHD displays. Decisions!

Not up with all of windows tricks, nor have i bothered.
Windows mostly remembers where i've had a window open previously, so mostly opens in same size/area
