I have about 140 four year old Dell R630s I need to liquidate, who are the main players in the second hand business nowadays? My priorities are -

    1. Able to follow a formal process, references and provide a quote based on a BoM etc.
    2. Price being offered. Expectation is there is still some residual value as these are high spec boxes that are not EOL.

No you can’t have one, and no I won’t be selling them on OCAU :)

Thanks all, it looks like vendor lifecycle is pretty common, will investigate further.

Thought I'd share some findings after speaking to a few vendors -
    • Cisco switches have the highest resale value - apparently there is always a market for them.
    • 1RU pizza boxes are second most valuable, but only up to a max of five year.
    • Storage is worth almost nothing regardless of initial value, due to the risks incurred every time they roll on/off a truck.
    • Devices with expensive licensing (firewalls usually) are worth nothing due to costs of relicensing.
