It would be nice if they were consistent with the games that they banned....

An old arcade tank sim I think. Early-mid 90s it came out I think.

Banning violence? So how are all these other games allowed classification? Jesus christ!!

Right, because there are no degrees of violence. Hitting someone with a pillow is the same as punching them in the face is the same as sawing their head off with a rusty knife.

They ban all these games and then wonder why there is piracy.

You don't think you're using these bannings as a convenient excuse for piracy? How about piracy in other countries that don't have this game banning issue?

It does make you wonder given that in proportion to everything that comes out the banned ones are a fair minority.

Lets put it in another context, a certain part of the population see's that the game has been banned.

They think, it must be pretty good/violent/etc. because it was banned and seeing as they can't buy it off the shelf in Australia and can't use mums cc to order it from overseas, they download it from the internet.

Because it is also the single most awesome shooter ever - banning it would cause massive civil unrest :thumbdn:

It seems their formula involves going down to the race track and putting all the potential M15+ rated games on a horse and then banning the winner.

I think you'll find that MMOs are open-ended for reasons other than avoiding the attentions of the OFLC...

All the GTA series have been open ended. Yet they got classified.

I'd like to see someone push the boundaries of the apparent exemption from classification requirements that MMOs presently enjoy. Create an MMO which acts as a delivery system for sexual content that would otherwise be rated R18 or X18 and see what happens. :)

I'm guessing its the sequel to ShellShock Nam 67 or whatever the rest of the title was called. Didn't get much praise but I enjoyed it quite a lot. Had dismemberment, decapitation etc.

Ugh, when is the Australian government gonna wake up and realise that it is not only kids who play games and roll out an R-Rating thus enabling those of us who are over 18 to play the games we want without having to source them elsewhere. The short-sightedness and stupidity of government's knows no bounds :thumbdn:.
