There's a thread for this game in the PC section, but I believe this needs another one here for the MMO fans who have played Ultima Online (UO) or want a game like UO again.

Kickstarter currently in Alpha, this game is basically the new UO. Reading the forums you can see the skills, magic and lore is all UO based. There's going to be housing too - just like UO days, first in best dressed gets the plots!

UO was the best game for me played it for nearly 10 years, and nothing has come close, I've tried pretty much every other mmo out there and all have failed.

Oh man this will be awesome if it gets past vapourware.

I agree UO was the best MMO ever and eagerly await this game.

Well he did raise over 3 million dollars.

Been following it since Last week when I found it.

If you back now you can play Alpha later this month.

    ETA is October.

Sorry I'm just cynical and assume all new releases are vapour until a release date is set.

I'm truely wishing the best for this. Some of my best gaming years was on UO.

KickStarter is finished, cheapest for Alpha/Beta is US$45.

Town lots are US$200 (SOLD OUT) and store prices for items are not cheap https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/?page_id=9085

Its still very much alpha for the point of getting feedback ASAP. Mostly focused around getting feedback on crafting which seems to have both positive and negative feedback. (can't make everyone happy)

I'm mostly waiting to see combat, they are going try out some card system, they want to make it more random rather than just button bashing that all MMORPGs are currently. I'm skeptical but we will see.

yeah multiplayer is enabled. the whole thing feels very clunky, which is to be expected given that its an alpha release. Next release will be more interesting with combat etc.

such a bad game. over and over i've heard they were banning people from steam forums, even 500USD donators based on bad reviews. i love ultima series, but this is some horrible horrible crap.

I had a go a bunch of releases ago. Was seriously not impressed. I backed it, but basically treat all the release emails as spam. I should try now that its persistent, but I don't hold high hopes.
