is there something like the silicon lottery for Australia ?
They are not that great. Hwbot marketplace, but you'll pay big time on high binning
thanks, just wondered it there was a place in Aus, been looking on Hwbot and yes they are expensive there
ok I'm thinking of setting up an australian forum site specifically for users to sell their overclocked cpu's
or does hwbot and ocau already cover this market
any feedback is welcomed
I think it's a very targeted audience, not everyone wants a high binned and most people I think would be targeting a cheaper priced one.
But if you know it's a limited market and still want to go for it more power to you. I can't see sponsorship though either so all the hosting etc WILL cost you money
I have heard of a forum in Australia that is focused on overclocking and other computer hardware called ocow. You might be able to see if they have some kind of trading forum or something?
thanks havabeer and chook stupid idea
not a stupid idea, just do a bit of research and work out what you actually want to get out of it before just racing out and starting a forum.
message AG and ask him what the total costs of running OCAU are
Thanks, havabeer the cost for me would be very little, already have hosting, forum software is free and a domain name is $1. Problem would be getting people to use the new forum
Used to be back in the day. Some retailers would offer certain batches, and advertise as such, because they knew ocers would purchase them specifically. I always used to hold back from first release to let others discover which were the good ones : p
hwbot is your ideal place to look at.
hwbot seems to be mainly european sellers
