Hey guys, I'm new to this sort of sharing Netflix, however I was wanting to know this. My Father in law has just been connected with it so we can share the Netflix on 2 devices, he has been capped at 100gb with his internet plan, however I have 1TB. Do I share his plan though his internet provider or do I use my own internet when I connect Netflix as we can share on 2 devices?

This has got me baffled as he rang tech support and they said we both share his account (100gb)

    please tell me I'm wrong?

It's his Netflix account that you share, not his internet access account. You should both be able to log on from each of your systems and use whatever ISP you want.

Thanks so much for this! The ISP guy said it was the internet we both share, due to the account

I'm not sure what that means. I'm no expert, and could be wrong. I'm not sure what they're telling you.

    Nothing to do with internet.

All you do is log into netflix on your device with his credentials.

When you watch Netflix you use your own data from your ISP. You can give your Netflix account details to 10 people if you want, but only 2 people can watch it the same time, due to the Netflix plan you are on.

That’s because the ISP guy is usually stupid, and has no clue what he’s on about. Think of the ISP guy doing an advanced “Choose your own adventure” book.

Thanks guys for the replies. I did think think this as well, just needed confirmation, however I remember those choose your own adventure books at school, and those were the only ones I read!

Ever get one of those “Choose your own advaneture” books where they screwed up and you ended up in a loop, or pushed to the wrong page with the “right” choice?

Oh the memories... I did not realise those books were meant to be training manuals...

    Z...

Your internet is on a plan, your Netflix is on a subscription, and you could take that subscription and use the neighbour's internet plan if you had their logins. 2 different beasts.
