    heh.

Nah, too many shit releases. I always get suckered in to the marketing hype... I was so pumped for SimCity5 and it turned out awful....when I actually got to play it a week or so later.

Not going to buy into the hype again... i hope

I thought once you start up the game you only have 24hrs to return it. One week is just it being in your games library untouched. If I'm wrong I apologise

I can understand the hate, but good city builders are few and far between. I wonder if they will opt for a re-launch around Update 10 :).

Finally got around to reinstalling origin... Looks like Amazon/EA finally sorted out there shite, and the game is gone from my Origin account. The feedback on update 7 is almost uniformly good... Does anyone here still play? Is it worth a purchase now?

played it. Doesn't look like much has changed.

Bridges and tunnels look like so much of a slapped on afterthought, even the label telling you how to use them, looks like it was cut out and glued onto the interface.

tried to get into it, 30 mins and I was bored enough to turn it off.

Do you think your opinion is tainted by the shite launch?

ie. If you had just sat down to play this game, would your opinion be substantially different?

i went into this game with a clear head and ignored all the negetive press. i played this about 4-5 months ago after hearing all about its issues i still paid 50 bux (idiot!) but i really enjoyed my 20 odd hours i pumped into it. but the map size is probably the biggest factor that made me stop playing it after. just got boring after that, i could look past all the bugs at that stage but until (or if they dont) they release bigger maps i wont be playing it again, but i did buy sim city 4 in steam sales ;)

New SIM city just an elaborate plot to sell SIM city 4 for a few bucks.

    I agree.
It had its faults but i enjoyed it for probably close to 30 hours (my GF probably put more into it than i did).

If/when they make the maps bigger ill go back.
Until then i just get bored once ive filled up the space i am given :\

No, believe me I want to be able to sit down for a few hours and build a city.

The issue is, everything seems so basic and simplistic, your town and then you're done. There's no saving for an airport or working out how you're going to afford the next power plant.

in the 30 minutes I played I managed to have a police HQ, a fire HQ and a nuclear plant and still be generating income. There's no city management involved, its just plop some zones and sit back waiting.

They keep saying that it will happen it time. What's the bet it will be an expansion pack with the motorways and subways that will be necessary to make it work...

I doubt it. A larger play area will result in more obvious, bigger flaws in game design. The game doesn't work with small play area's, so it's not like making them bigger will fix it.
