biggest surprise is that this "feature" is being provided free of charge from EA.
Yeah.. i'm actually surprised it's not being rolled over into an expansion pack or some other sneaky/sly double dip..
And it only took 10 months!
10 months and they finally concede that the DRM was a problem? Far out man, faaaaar out.
Unlikely to be a patch, more likely to be a DLC. This is EA we are talking about.
Coming July 2015:
Sim City: Bigger Maps
anybody tried the custom models as mentioned in the sim city blog post?
Mods could be the thing that gets me back into the game. Some of the preliminary ones look awesome.
Simcity (offline mode) now available
Received this email aound midd day today
Guess its time to reload it onto the PC
Man, you must need a super powerful computer to run the game with all the work the servers were doing
Good to see they finally caved though, hopefully it will make them think in future before they do this kind of thing again.
Massive city building area's would bring me back.
Same. Anyone heard about upcoming mods that will support it? Heard something about it being quite complicated due to metric calculations or something.
Some of those initial mods look rad as, such as the tram stop n maccas. What would get me hooked tomorrow? if i could include the Perth belltower or BHP building jokes jokes.
It'll give me incentive to buy it now...
They need to make the city size the same as SC4000 or SC2000, that would be the only thing that would make me play it again, it is sim town at the best.
Yep got the email and it reminded me that I own this game.
No offline mode was the reason I stopped playing, anyone tried it yet?
I had a go of this about two months ago. To my surprise, my original (best) city, which I thought was forever lost due to the 'processing' bug, was able to load and be played.
If you need a refresher on tactics, Skye storme has a series on YouTube, play guides, tips and tricks, mod reviews. He's also doing a series for banished, which is pretty good as well.
It's probably the only reason I still bother keeping up with simcity news.
Check this out from over at the simtropolis forum
The dude is an admin over at the German Simcity forums so you would hope he isn't pulling our legs. I'm quietly optimistic this is true.
Would be awesome to have larger maps
Thats awesome news!
Cant wait to try it out!
