Will be loading more as I speak. Feel free to save the pictures if you like them, but if you intend to use these photos for any form of commercial use, I will charge for it.

Series shot with Canon EOS 5D, 17-40mm, 50mm, 70-200mm and 550EX flash from various vantage points on the Bay Grandstand.

Merged two shots to expose the evening sky a bit better, while getting the cars to be fairly sharp.

The sound of an F1 car can be deafening at 10,000rpms and 20 feet away

    Kimi Raikkonen

    Jenson Button

Sure, if you don't mind blurry ones, I'll try to look for some. He stuffed his face into water barriers quite early on, when I was warming up to the speed of the F1 cars. Its been a really long time since I shot anything that moves so quicky. It being a night race means that the AF is a bit slower than normal - coupled with a 200kph car it means there's sh!tloads of backfocused images.

EDIT: I have zero pictures of either of the two Red Bull racing cars, but somehow have lots of Toro Rosso. Don't know why, because I wasn't specifically looking out for any team, just shooting as they came round. Sorry!

I can wait til you have some keepers ;) :D

So jealous! I have Bathurst and Indy to look forward to, but nothing beats the sound of the F1 at 19,000rpm

Those are some great shots. Any chance I could get a higher res version of the kimi shot. I would love that as my desktop background :)

I figure its better to watch the qualifying and the race from home, because I can see all the angles. Watching from trackside is exciting, but you don't get a sense of who's fast and who's winning. Just a bunch of cars coming past.

Unless another ticket falls out of the sky like the Friday Practice one did, I won't have Webber pictures to offer.

I see some glowing brakes finally! :D

Looks like Renault is the way to go for those shots. One of the few not sporting the covers. Great shots.

Great shots man... how did you get to those spots? Are there viewing areas on the stand or something? It's like you are hanging over the side :)

PS: First shot is gold, nice work on multi exposure

You must be confusing him with David Coutlhard, unlike DC - Webber finishes and scores points :D ;)

Where were the other shots from? Did you move seats during practice? I do that in Melb - go up the back to shoot over the fence when the stand isn't so crowded

Yeah, same here. I would love a 1440x900 res of that shot for my background.

Also love the glowing pads in the last shot. can't wait for the race, going to be something special... :D

not having a go at you, but if you're not accredited by FOA/FIA, I'd be a bit wary of making statements like this....

great photos though, really wish I'd been able to get over there for it.

Technically, putting them on display in a public forum breaches the terms and conditions of entry to any F1 GP ;) :D

I'd wonder if this is classed as a public forum...not totally certain on that
