Just got an email from them saying my order is being processed, so here's to hopin'.
Same thing happened here . Would be awesome to receive it as there's so many potential uses for this little bugger.
No, you are incorrect - it's a promo for customers who attend Tech@Work every year.
Each year there are promos available to customers who attend the events held throughout Australia. The promos have been running for some time , but the Microservers only just popped up on it.
Yep looks like emails have gone out, managed to secure myself one!
Can you confirm these take Non-ECC Ram as well? I can't see a reference to non-ECC ram on any site with specs
Yes non ECC will work
Just out of curiosity, do you have a reference????
You better not be questioning Stanza...
A quick search found nothing. But I'm sure many here are living proof you can. However, I assume you can't mix and match ECC with non-ECC.
Have a squiz thru here
Here for specifics
and YES you can mix ECC and NON ECC... I wouldn't recommend it tho.... but plenty have
Cheers for the confirmation Stanza however I'm not that game.
Unless you're planning on using software RAID I doubt you'd have an issue, I certainly haven't had any yet.
Which sponsor has a deal going?
megabuy has it for sale as does Warcom.
Megabuy is $349 more mega than buy
Hi everyone. Need some help. Any ideas why my write speed over the network to the box (running FreeNAS 8.0) gets up to 60MB/s but I can read from it over the same network at only 6MB/s? seems awfully strange to me :/
Edit: Running ZFS, with RAID-z over SMB
So where did people get their ECC ram, I've had a look at Crucial direct and the cheapest they seem to have is around the $220 mark.
where as www.techbuy.com.au has:
Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) PC3-8500 1066MHz Registered ECC DDR3 RAM, Quad Rank x8 - CL7 $163.95
Kingston 8GB (2 x 4GB) PC3-8500 1066MHz Registered ECC DDR3 RAM, Dual Rank x4, Intel Certified, Thermal Sensor - CL7 $181.85
and verdict on these items?
Microserver does not take REGISTERED Ram
Where did you get $220 from? 8GB for US$115:
5% off coupon: http://www.december.com/coupon-codes/crucial-coupons.htm
you can get a deal on 2TB drives also.
im waiting for scoprtec pricing on 3TB drives before i go and get 2x 4GB DDR3 RAM. so i can order in one go.
