Just spoke to Megabuy, and even though my 3 orders are all marked as shipped, they're still waiting for the goods to arrive at Megabuy, where they will on ship them to me. So they're expecting delivery by Friday, for a server ordered last thursday, and sometime next week for servers ordered on friday morning. Would've been less annoying if they'd told me that instead of saying everything had been shipped.
I waited too long so missed out but maybe that's a good thing. What happens with DOAs or units that go belly up before the warranty expires since they're now discontinued? If anybody in Melbourne does end up with a spare though I'd be interested
Interesting, as their 'order processed' e-mail says:- So they're saying it has to come back to them before they'll ship it, despite a subsequent e-mail saying it has been shipped? Ordered mine late Friday night, so it looks like I'm in for a bit of a wait...
Just got an email from MegaBuy saying my order is being processed, after ordering last night, don't rate my chances of getting the hardware, would think it wouldn't be allocated until it'd been processed at which stage it was too late. Lets hope I got my Dessy order in early enough.
no its not! It is proof that if you are willing to make a loss to get rid of old stock there will be a market if the price is too good to pass up (which this obviously is!)
I'll let you know as my HDD slot1 doesn't detect HDD's. I submitted my DOA RA replacement to Megabuy Friday and it's pending. I ordered a second one from DesyTek on Friday too just in case. If worst comes to worst HP will send out a replacement mini sas cable, or even a replacement which they said would take at least 20 days! I'm sure HP would have a stock of units for replacement if required. They will have stock of replacement parts for sure.
Just for reference - my two units from 'Megabuy' came direct from Dicker Data - I believe they call it dropshipping and plenty of places do it.
