You'll probably still get it though. My confirmation came on Saturday night.

Hmmm strange. I ordered Saturday afternoon and got a shipped confirmation that day. Did you tell them that the sender is Dicker Data?

First post to your forum. Have enjoyed reading this thread!

I originally ordered one Microserver via BPay from Dessytek on Saturday morning, but discovered Monday morning that I probably wouldnt get it.

So I ordered from Megabuy on Monday arvo using credit card. Rang them yesterday for a status and they told me it had already been shipped and I would get it today. Rang them today to get tracking number and they told me they had only arrived at Megabuy Brisbane today and so it would be shipped tomorrow morning and I'd get it tomorrow afternoon. So little frustrated with the poor comms and statusing, but at least Megabuy seem to have their act together a lot more than Dessytek.

cheers all and thanks for all the useful info so far.

Yep, both times. I got an "order shipped" email on saturday but no courier details. I've fired off an email to DessyTek on the off chance they actually respond (won't be holding my breath).

I just want confirmation that it's coming, not all that fussed if it's next week or whatever, it just sucks not knowing.

it seems the confusion is that when dessytek says orders shipped, they mean
    order sent to the supplier?

and maybe the supplier had already run out when they came in but dessytek doesn't know?
at least that's one way of looking at it.

Hmmm my paypal shipping address has my home address, while the dessytek order shows my work address (which is where I want it to go). Hopefully that hasn't screwed anything up :(

The Gigabyte HD5450 1GB DDR3 card I have sitting here ready for my HTPC has passive cooling. It is a full height card however so no good for the HP box.

Yeah if you read their FAQ they ignore the paypal address and send it to the address you specified, I also confirmed this with him via email.

Does anyone have any alternatives for this?
I can't find a single thing to come close to it for anything like the price here.

If anyone happened to buy a spare or decided it's not for them, let me know.

I didn't realise I wanted one until 10 minutes ago when I was trying to cram another drive in my HTPC :)

Well i thought i'd add my 2cents worth...
Ordered Sunday night from HBoutlet x1 and PC Solutions x1, and received an email today from BOTH of the refunding my purchase due to insufficient stock.

    Greatly disappointed :(

Is there anyone still floating around that has one up for sale? PM me please :)

    Cheers,
    Nash

Just unpacked mine and damn I'm impressed, it's absolutely tiny and super quiet! I was considering flipping it to one of you who missed out, but NO, I'm keeping it all to myself. :leet:

1Gb RAM isn't enough to install ESXi so I'm installing FreeNAS just to have something to play with for a while. I'll hit up a store tomorrow for RAM and disks. If I can score 8Gb of RAM I'll flip the 1Gb stick here.

The girlfriend approval factor is quite low at this stage "what do we need a server for?"

How does the ATI5450 deal with hardware decoding on Linux, with something like XBMC? I've heard these cards aren't compatible. I'm worried sound over HDMI might also be an issue on linux.

FYI: Server came today. Ordered Friday night from Megabuy.
