What incentive is there for people to post this on OzBargain? I don't understand the site but why would you want to share this deal there? Sharing on OCAU is difference since this is a real community site but OzBargain just seems nothing like it...

striving for popularity I would imagine ...

whatever the reason, seems lame ... especially how quickly it was done.

Definately! He's sales must be going through the roof! Good on him!:thumbup:

    None.

But when OZB first started (they were small) and every week they gaveaway free items for the best deals of the week.

I got $30 once for having my deal on
and another week I got a 8GB USB drive.

    :)

Just ordered one. Told they are being processed in a batch later today so I should get my confirmation tomorrow morning at the latest.

Already have 4 2TB sitting here ready to go. Hopefully will be a bit cheaper to run the the Q6600 that is currently acting as my file server.

It sure will be better then running a desktop 24-7! O_O
you may also want to look into changing the 3000rpm stock fan to a 2000rpm pwm one.

Not for popularity but for the common man who wants to save money. I feel for the people who missed out.

I often look at ozbargain and have saved some coin from them.

But i agree let ocau sit on it for a day or two and then let the rest at it.

    Agree.

If I had to put a dollar figure on what I have learnt here on OCAU and the connections I've made it'd be worth a hell of a lot more than that...

Why not the ASRock E350M1/USB3 $134. Considering they are newer boards with usb 3.0 and sata 6gb/s compared to the usb2.0 and sata 3gb/s on these HP microservers. Was considering this board, till this HP deal resurfaced.

    http://www.itestate.com.au/pages/pr...aces?BeanName=productDetailAction&pcode=10052

These are more HTPC motherboards as they include Sound Card, HDMI, DVI and in some cases Wifi. Which are not included with the HP machines.

Agreed, and cheers for the leg work. I feel without that I would've been starting a non owners group.

I still don't understand the motivation for posting it on oz barg so soon. With all the interest and disappointment in missing out the first time it feels like a big f u to the Ocau members. Still it's happened now :(

Well i figured most of the ocau members would of ordered by now. Plus it exposes people to OCAU and what we are about, increasing members, helping the community grow and bringing in new talent, which i have seen of late.

I see the enterprise forum slowly dieing and i guess in some way this might help resurrect it.

in a nutshell that is what my motivation is.
If i was driven by popularity i would of posted it on ozbargain and the rest of the internet my self.

It works, I've done it from the internal USB port in mine. What happens? Boot order?
