Hi all, been lurking a while but am only registering now.

I'm trying to find a Samsung HD753LJ 750 gig harddrive with the manufacture date 2008.08 on the front plate and with f1_3D firmware.

The logic board on one I have has died. I've tried it with a couple of newer models (same firmware but slightly different logic board) and wasn't successful. Thought someone might have one they'd be willing to sell me (or trade for a new drive- I can give you a terabyte drive or something).

Anyway thanks in advance for checking around for the drive if you do. And of course, I'm looking forward to many more posts here in the future :D

I've got four of them with that firmware.
Hang on a sec and I'll pull one and check the date - I can't see that from the front door of the case.

Edit: 3 @ 2008.04 and one @ 2008.06 , but the 2008.06 is my system drive. I can move the other three around to let you have one of those if it helps. :)

    Solved

In case anyone was wondering- I got the two drives from Blinky, replaced the logic board from one of them with the logic board of my dead drive and brought it back to life! Saved every file from the dead drive (I tried it earlier with a newer firmware version and it hadn't worked, so I wasn't holding my breath, but was relieved that it did work in the end).

...Thought I'd post in case anyone has a problem with a logic board dying in one of these drives and thinks their info is unrecoverable...well maybe it is unrecoverable, but I was lucky enough to recover mine.

    Thanks again Blinky! Cheers all.

Thread super resurrection but I have the exact same drive. Would either of you happen to still have that logic board around?

Yeah I do. I'll just have to have a check what machine they are in.
I think there might be two of them, how many do you want?
