not so nerdy but I always loved the start of the nirvana song: Territorial Pissings.

its a good man, although I've missed a few calls because I felt like getting my head bang on.

Ah, back in the good old days, I remember collecting soundbytes for ringtones and had those first two. Though you forgot the bit after that where he actually mentions his cellphone is ringing.

I used to have a soundbyte from monty python as my sms tone:

"whoooooshht. Boing. Message for you sir!"

It is quite long and quite loud, so may disturb some people :p. Especially as I know the start of it, I know its going to get louder in half a second.

Though, harder to put alerts on iphone :(

Codec sound is awesome! :D

My message/alert tone is the Yajima sound from Shinobi 3, it's an ear pricking electronic scramble that always gets my attention... also had Generator by Foo Fighters as my main ringtone for about five years now - totally unique and easy to hear in crowded places.

Using the theme from Robot Chicken for ring tone, which replaced the theme from Invader Zim.

And the 5 notes from Close Encounters for SMS traffic...

man, I like these ringtones, and wouldn't mind them if it was only friends or people who knew me who could hear them (meta cheese factor humour or something).

But I try to imagine sitting on a packed train and having the thundercats tune going off... heh :o
