That's not my shocked face. That's my "need new underwear" face.
After Watch Dogs got delayed, I'm really stuck on what game to get. Any suggestions? I was thinking about Knack, but everyone saying it isn't great has me skeptical. Not really a big fan of FPS on console.
Anyone ordered from Play-Asia? ~$65 for a US copy doesn't sound too bad and should get here before Aussie launch!
This is when I get my PS4. Assuming the Xbone version is delayed considerably.
Getting reports of 100% failure rates on this console. Will report back soon.
You be trollin'
Ahhhhh that's why we can never agree on anything.
Depends what you're into. This the launch and close to launch titles for PS4:
Non-fps launch that I'm genuinely keen for:
Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition
Non-fps near launch that I'm genuinely keen for:
inFamous Second Son
Octodad: Dadliest Catch
MLB 14: The Show
Haha sure sure
Don't get me wrong, visually they are great, like a movie in a game similar to what MGS4 was, but I got near the end of 1 and 2 and never bothered. No idea why.
Yep, reports are that buyers are failing. They should have bought Xbox Ones
I'm JK, be gentle!
There were some issues, Sony has said the numbers closer to 0.04%.
HAHA that did make me laugh. Some reports of issues with the HDMI port, but not enough to be widespread. Lets wait and see what happens over the weekend.
Well I'm pretty set of delaying my PS4 purchase until this releases . None of the launch titles interest me at all, so I can wait.
I missed the start of the stream, was the last of us - left behind a PS4 title or ps3?
For those who bought it on Amazon, what does tracking say? Mine left the Phoenix facility but arrived in the LA facility. Not sure whether it's going the right way or they've screwed up somehow and it's in limbo.
Same tracking. It'll get processed in LA, then flown to Sydney/Melbourne, customs, then cleared, then processed, then out for delivery.
They usually send it to the LA facility or another larger centre for international distribution. Being the PS4, I'm pretty sure they're just consolidating the console orders so they arrive in the country at the same time.
AMAZON IS NOW OUT OF STOCK ON ALL LAUNCH DAY EDITION CONSOLES.
Thanks. Now I just gotta sit tight and hope it doesn't get lost, stolen or is defective.
Just saw this
I saw this (headline) as well and I am very interested to know how they came up with that number.
They quoted 0.04% of shipped units! Shipped where? To the retailer? Or units still sitting in the post office?
They know exactly how many have been activated (this is partly why they have a day 1 firmware update) and I'm guessing they have a pretty good idea about how many have this issue (look at the list of people complaining).
... Why did they use the 'shipped units' stat before the console is officially released!?
I know the happy people with working units are too busy to post things, but I do find it interesting that this has affected so many of their high profile customers (the sites, magazines and internet superstars).
I have nothing to base this on, but in the manufacturing industry, it's easy enough to source part failures.
Say Sony has had 10 failed HDMI units reported to them, they are all of the same batch, made right after each other. Manufacturer records indicate that this batch all had say, SUPPLIER-TWO's version of the HDMI connector, as SUPPLIER-ONE couldn't source enough in time. They know that SUPPLIER-TWO's connector is only used in 5,000 units, or 0.1% of manufactured PS4s. Hence, if they claim all 5,000 units are duds, they have their oddly specific number of (potential) failed units.
Once again, not based on facts coming from Sony, just how this can be tracked in the manufacturing world.
