a prototype of the console would have shaken all the doubt with Sony. just also wanted to note to the watchdog fans. the game play shown was generated by a PC as said by the ubisoft dude on the gametrailers post coverage.

the future of open world is about to change in a more immersive way.

I'm also surprised at the little uproar of no backwards compatibility. even the ps3 generation 1 did. I can understand based on the different in infrastructure it can't but still its a shame.

I've gotta say, not a strong showing. I really think Sony needed to push hard here, and they just didn't do it. I hope they are just saving it for E3.

Meh, that Killzone trailer looked about as impressive as a fart in a spa bath.

Well, they've got AA out of the box now, I suppose.

Also - WEB SOCIAL NETWORK 2.0! BUZZWORDS! YEAH! WE HAZ THEM!

its not a high end gpu. it is a budget pc gpu at 2tflops.

the memory bandwidth is high end though.

From following all the hype over the last few weeks, people wanted:

    - To see the console itself
    - GT6
    - Last Guardian
    - MGS5

The fact that we have confirmation that the console exists should please most though, and the gaming industry can finally start moving into the next gen

Everyone can bag it, but I'm excited! Graphics look pretty sweet, and its always good having a new console.

Most of the stuff shown was pre-rendered cutscenes. E3 or maybe GDC will be where we can really cut our teeth into it and should see some proper gameplay demos

meh, boring. none of the next gen consoles interest me at all. and im an sony supporter, more or less.

faster hardware, all good and well. (people comparing the hardware to PC have no idea, and should just stop it, they are nothing alike)

all sony had to do was say "support for oculus rift" and that would have turned the industry on its head (for the enthusiast segment anyway)

hopefully MS do something innovative with Kinect2 or something....sitting and playing games with a controller in your hand...ive been doing that for 25 years...gimmie something new

Killzone looks alright. Im sure the graphics will be pretty impressive. Some PS3 stuff coming out is still pretty good.

Just under a grand here from memory.

I still enjoy that though. I don't want something that requires you to get all interactive and moving your arms and head. If I want to be interactive and move my body I go play sport. Perfectly happy with another gaming console where I can relax on a recliner with a controller TBH.

You may well have, but it was $999 without a game.

Mine is a shitty 40gb model, which was missing a few other bells and whistles too.

When I have ppl swing by for a game, they all comment how noisy the f#ker is. lol

    Yeah, those fuckin' consumers, eh?

Your job would be so much more easier if those pricks didn't exist. Gamers. Pffft. They should just fuck off and die.

But if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, has the same damn hardware as a duck...

There's already an enthusiast platform out there that supports Oculus Rift.

It will revolutionise the way you browse through ads for services you can't receive in Australia.
