Sweet. Sony released Jellybean for my Xperia P today; we get Stamina mode now, too. Good to see they're being egalitarian about it.

on the revolution ROM ive just spent my first full day with the phone, used it as much as i usually do in a workday (repeated checking of OCAU and facebook on it because they are blocked at work :p) and ive still got ~60% remaining as of midnight tonight.

on my galaxy S3 i'd probably still have ~70% remaining at this time with the same usage.

really can't complain about that. not using stamina mode yet either

I bought the ZL and love the shit out of it. Had it for bit over a month now I think.

It sacrafices waterproofing but gets a physical camera button, IR blaster, better loudspeaker and stereo FM radio. The radio is awesome for work because I can only stream about 6 hours of spotify a day with my current mobile plan haha. Also the loudspeaker is the loudest and clearest phone speaker I have ever heard. The ring around the camera is designed to hole the phone off a table etc so that sound from the loudspeaker can make it out from under the phone and it works perfectly.

The FM radio app is the best I've ever used and supports TrackID from within the app without breaking playback. The camera button is the same old double indented button and nothing too special. Sony does need to decide there god damn camera app they've been slipping on that side of things from the x10i in fact I swear I have better pics from that old pos. The IR blaster is fun to use but I dont believe there are any cases that dont cover it, which means go naked or cut up a case.

USB audio works which is fun but as it is the headphone out is pretty clean and reletively neutral. The stock canal phones are the best phones I have ever heard come with a phone. I sold mine to a mate and kept my AF56m canal phones tho. Other Sony apps like Movies, Album and Walkman are all good with some subtle touches like slow background colour changes and notification light glow to match the dominant colour of picture/movie/album art.

    I believe that all. 3G for $550 and 4G for $650

I get about a day and half out of my battery with stamina mode enabled. I use my phone a lot. Around 100 texts a day and 10-20phone calls.

Dunno about the lag, I think they are pretty swift.

Something isn't right there! You should be able to download an app and see what's using all the battery.

    100 percent at 6.30am. 87% now.

    sent 30texts, received 33.

    Made 8 shortish phone calls.

    Something is clearly wrong.

My battery took a week before it got good though.

Someone said on here that sony doesn't burn in their batteries or something, so it takes like 100charges to see the full amount of use of the battery.

As mentioned, new battery takes a few charge cycles to run properly. You'll notice the battery will last much longer after a 1-2 weeks. Stamina Mode works very well unless you put a lot of apps active in standby. Other than that, the phone does chew a lot of battery when it's in use but I've found standby times exceptionally good.

As for lag, I'm pretty sure it's the stock launcher. If you want zero lag, get Nova launcher instead.

It'd be great if I could find out what was chewing the battery.
Coming from an iPhone this is all new

When I open up the battery subfolder
The screen and mediaserer are using the most percent

How much is the media server using?

My screen is usually 25-30% and I get 2 or so days on average. Perhaps disable the media server, I've never found that sort of thing useful anyway.

Also whoever posted that $30 credit thing - thanks.

Now to pick from the sub-par options on what to spend it on

Phone with HD resolution...can't download HD content from the store. Ung.

    Screen is 40%
mediaserver is 22% (what does it do anyway? Is it the Walkman app to play music)
    Android system 10%

    Those are the main culprits

Also regarding this $30 credit, details?

com.sonyericsson.music includes the walkman, but actually looking at mine it's got mediaserver in there too - which must be the walkman as it's used 20% and I've mostly been using the walkman today/yesterday.

Screen at 40% is the big one though - turn the brightness down.

    44% @ 1 Day 6 hours

Try to post some battery percentage and the history details (click on the graph at the top) which contails the awake and screen on times.

I use WhatsApp all the time and it never drains a lot.

Brightness, I set to around 20% too with "adapt to lighting conditions" ticked, which should be brighter on average too, and I get at least 3 hours of screen time per charge.

Getting hot means something else is using it quite heavily. The battery times you're experiencing is definitely not right. I use whatsapp quite a bit and my screen is at 50%/adapt brightness - I get 4 1/2 hours of screentime easy when not playing games.
