    ***UPDATE***

The Auzen Forte 7.1 arrived with a fault - gone for RMA, so this will not be added for at least 1-2 weeks at least.
Auzen Xplosion 7.1 is being tested in the mean time (thanx mshagg for the offer to test it out).
Ill add more content shortly too.

    ***UPDATE***

Not a fan of front panel audio connectors myself. You end up losing the benefit of the EMI shield by making audio travel through the middle of the case on a flimsy wire.

Your right, and a few people mention that in other forums.
As my speakers are not "top notch" and I use them for occasional music a front panel connect (that isnt quite as good as the rear connecter) is fine by me.
Id much rather have both the headphones and speakers permanently plugged in and you only need to select one of the two in the software than fumble around the back of the case to change from one to the other.

Comes down to what you want from a card really.
But the way I see it; for a $220 sound card id expect the option of a front panel connector to be standard.

Finally Auzentech have redeemed themselves over (un)CreAtive and released v1.0 final drivers for the Forte, and new drivers for the Prelude and other cards.

    Encoding finally aint broken yay!

What do you do with these cards once you've purchased and reviews them?

I have sold them here in the OCAU forums. 2-3 I have bought from these forums too.
I currently only have a Xonar U1 and the Auzen Forte (my two favorites).

My prediction is that the Essence will take the Music Quality crown ;)

    Ahh, you're a legend man..
If you were actually buying and testing all these cards, you should have put in soem effort to make professional(ish) looking reviews.. Who knows, you might attract the attention a review site or a manufacturer.. Then you wouldn;t have to worry about paying for the items you review :p

Don't think you could review the Auzentech Prelude do ya?
As soon as you get the Essence and hopefully the Prelude reviewed, I will choose a sound card lol
    Onboard sucks haha :upset:

For me, gamign is 10%, music listening is 70%, and asian dramas/animes are 20% :p

By the sounds of it, the Forte is the way to go at the moment, especially because that 10% of gaming is mainly CS:S..

    ^ Thanx mate.
I was gona do a detailed review of each, but I wanted to keep it as simple as possible so that your not swamped with details (esp music lingo that only audiophiles can understand).
Thats why I came up with a simple system: overview, pros, cons and summary with a heavy focus on gaming.

I have the money for a Xonar STX next, so I dont wana spend money on a Prelude (yet) if someone would like to send me one for about a week, id appreciate it?
Ill send it straight back, like it did with the Xplosion (it was a borrowed card from a fellow OCAU'er).

Ahh yeh man, that's what I love about your reviews, so simple :p
I'm just saying though.. In order to catch the attention of these people, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to do both simple and technical reviews?

Lookin forward to your next review! I've been with onboard for too long now! lol

The Xplosion doesnt (cause it uses the C-Media chipset) The Forte DOES use Alchemy (cause it uses the X-Fi chipset).
