Starting to get to a price where I might start thinking of upgrading from my 128Gig...

I can't decide between a second 120gb, since I just really need to to control my ever growing dropbox/steam collection. (Dropbox grows, and means less steam games installed) or just getting a new 240/256gb. Such a tough firstworldproblem I have.

I will look into whether the 256GB version is faster than my existing 128GB drive.

Let us know what you come up with, I'm still deciding whether it's worth changing or not....

They've dropped twice more to $155 a few days ago, then they repeated the discount again, now to $160.

If you have a 6gb/s connection .. ie sata 3, then it may be worthwhile. If you are stuck on SATA 2, then no.

Nope. Just run the firmware update when you get it, and should be good to go

Run it in AHCI mode btw

Anything to be aware of for me? Considering one but will want to image my OS partition from my mechanical disk and plant it on the SSD. Anything required for 'maintenance' or anything over time?

These SSD shenanigans is a new thing for me :)

For best and problem free performance, best to do a fresh install of win7.
Only maintenance requirement is updating firmware (if you need it).

Price went up again. A$ dropping didn't help either.

for those amazon watchers, try www.camelcamelcamel.com
    yes weird name
anyway you can see price graph over time and set a limit so it emails you when your desired item hits that price.

got mine delivered today, is there anyway of telling from the sticker on the box if it has the fixed firmware on?

If no can the firmware be updated once you put the OS on?
