    Where?
Anand reported his initial review disk died (1) and the replacement was fine. There's been no other info (I've seen) on faulty disks.

If what you say is right, definitely would avoid for a month or two for solid info. DOn't need another OCZ fiasco.

That's enough for me to not order one today out of the blue. Besides my Vertex 3 240gb is still (surprisingly) working.

    Hey all

I am just after some advice for a new SSD or two,
I would be after at least 240gb - this will be for the system drive. I also have a 240gb Revodrive 3 x2 that I will use for games, but I just found it to be a bit tricky as a system drive.

I am thinking of getting one (or two) of these from America on fleabay - any thoughts?

    Cheapest on staticice is $236

    Cheers,
    Komm

Did numbers on today's list from MSY (01-01-13) and the best GB/$ comes out as the 240GB SanDisk Extreme 3 @ $0.73/GB.

    Time for me to buy.

    The Intel 330 180gb for $138 fits in next to the samsung 830 256gb @ .76c

Well the 335 is virtually the 330 on even smaller NAAND(20nm vs 25) but only seems to come in a 240gb model. PCCG are doing the same thing and only stocking the 335 & 520 variants of the 240gb size.

My only complaint is that it isnt as good $/gb as the intel 330 180gb, @ 89c vs 77c per gb.

The Sandisk 240gb model(24nm toggle naand) comes in at 74c per gb & has the same 3 year warranty which the 25nm intel 330 240gb model MATCHES in price which is awesome for an intel drive. You would expect the 335 to be even cheaper considering the NAAND shrink but it isnt as we apparently have to bear the initial costs of moving to the new manufacturing process. There isnt a performance improvement over the 330 240gb either so it isnt really worth it at the moment, at least here in Aus. A bit lame that some stores arent giving us the choice.

Hey guys. I grabbed a Silicon Power Velox V60 120Gb SSD today when I got my new case and mouse. Its just for a windows boot drive as my computer is really choking with this green 1TB HDD. Takes forever for windows to respond after getting to desktop.

I only got it because it was the only one in stock from the store I ordered from and I wanted to get my system setup and fixed over the weekend.

Anyone had any experience with these drives? Cant find too much info about them apart from they need a firmware upgrade but Silicon Power isn't offering one. Although that was back in Nov last year.

Sounds more like you have the ssd plugged into a marvell controller or something. That or its not set to AHCI or Raid in bios.

Just got a 240GB Intel 330 SSD for $179, due to my 2nd SSD death in 6 months. :Paranoid:

First was a 2 years old 120GB Gskill Falcon 2 that died about 6 months ago and I got an OCZ Agility 4 to replace it while the Falcon 2 was sent back for RMA. The Agility 4 just died last night and I switched back to the Falcon 2 that came back from RMA. Not so happy with either brand, so I bit the bullet and bought an Intel. Hopefully the Intel will fare better.
