Dang, the keys didn't last long :(

Also, only 2 weeks for an open beta.. that's a bit short.

20 years?1? lifetime subscription fee is about equivalent to about 16 months, which is playing monthly payments until august 2011. If the game is still going strong by then, content packs, other enhancements etc. Also if you're still playing it then, it can be worth it.

I want to say lifetime subs in any game is a bargain. I have a LT for Champions, which had a muddy beginning and hasn't improved much since then.

I've been in the ST:Beta (closed) for a while, and while it LOOKS like ST, SOUNDS like ST, it's just a bit too linear for an MMO.

It doesn't hurt that I now work with some of the guys who made it :)

As a prelude to creating an OCAU group, we should add one another as friends in game. When we have 5 or more - then we can create a group.

I'm Sureshot_77 in game, and I'm playing quite a bit at the moment.

I discovered PvP today - this might just make me rethink the possibility of a lifetime subscription. It is exactly what I remember some of the epic battles in the Star Trek movies and shows to be. Phasers and torpedos everywhere, with exploding ships left and right while you dog-fight to keep the Klingon Bird of Prey in your sights.

I only hope we get to re-enact the Borg battle at Wolf 3?9. The sector is there, and has a monument in game for the battle. So, who knows?

I'm down for the OCAU fleet, the only problem is we'll probably have to re-create it when OB finishes? Either way I'm William@themono in game.

    Jay@Jarnz here.
I'm sure it'll have to be recreated after the OB has finished, but think friends stay with the account.

once you add one, its cool other characters of your friends show up on the instance screens, then you can ad them as friends later on.

I played this last night, figured I'd give the beta a shot before the full release happens. I will probably hold off on playing any further for now so I don't have to go through too much of the same content again :)

I like it - especially space combat. Finally a MMO that isn't walking around hacking and slashing!

Phasers and torpedos are more fun than swords twice the length of the height of my character :p

It's set in space which makes it way cooler than wow, and it's not insanely complex so it's more approachable than eve.

Crap I had to upgrade to Windows 7 and install the latest Nvidia drivers didn't I? 190.38 remove the jerkiness? Here's hoping.

Apparently the 190.62 are the ones to have. Downside is they suck if you have sli.
