Ive written a long set if notes to the bf2 forums about these issues but no one reads apparently. The only threads that get a response are short pointless ones. The heavy class is the most versatile but heavily hindered because its AA side never really comes into play where its useful. I have two AA cards in that class which should be wrecking vehicles but by the time the vehicle is taken care of you have to reload your cards for infantry. Then their is the point exploit in ships in galactic assault. All it does it allow players to get a lot of battle points without making an impactful difference to the result of battle. If dice actually allowed a quicker progressional outcome per class we might see a far different game. You need to also see what maps are rotating as some are just no good and have bad choke points for attackers. The lack of squad play also males it less engaging but because of map design allowing team mates to spawn on a sqaud leader with timed rewards would mean the games would end within 5 minutes in galactic assault. Galactic assault is the best mode because of the overall star wars experience but heavily restricted and sometimes predictable at the same time.
