Yeah I'm having a bit of chuckle at all the people who preordered

This will end up like the diablo 3 real money auction house, a year later they'll realize it was a bad thing (after they've made their money) and EA will overhaul bf2 so it's less Grindy and less pay to win but will be too late by then

Preordering (aka Insanity) = repeating same behaviour and expecting different result.

People keep paying $$ for privilege of being a EA guinea pig.
I'll wait for release review before deciding.

Or they'll "fix" the problems in battlefront 3 so fans can buy the same game again.

Hold onto your seat, because they will do this alongside the hacks that EA seem either unwilling or unable to stop.

I was hoping for a modern day Jedi Academy.

Epic Star Cards and most Battlefront 2 weapons will no longer be loot box rewards

well, what would be better is having these cards not affect your abilities at all, that way someone who just got the game is on an even playing field (apart from skill) with people who have been playing for a while...

that idea seems to have gone out the window for most shooters these days.

I've pretty much resigned myself to buying this when it's worth paying for the campaign, or when it goes F2P on Origin Access.

Apart from the rage-inducing ethical bs, and paying additional money - which will inevitable be more than the $100+ you paid for the deluxe enhanced edition to get the entire game, or $150+ for season pass inclusive games (lets not forget that "mini-dlc" fiasco that was not going to be covered by the season pass, forget which it as).

Something like that robs the sense of achievement you get working to increase your character's strengths (and your skill too).

Microtransactions were a business model/scam for F2P games, now it you have the triple whammy these days - full price game - but pay additional fees to get the full game (day 0 "DLC") - and the microtransactions on top.

Don't forget that purchases are an RNG Pack bit, which adds a bit of gambling to your purchase to keep buying until you get what you want... The quadruple whammy... .FFS ... !

Yes forgot about the gambling aspect. I forgot which company, but they had a patent recently detailing how they would match make people who have premium items/weapons etc and match make them to a low level / new player who's play style matches those premium items/weapons to encourage them to pay for said microtransactions.
